Yes I think it was the fact he gave straight answers that impressed me. He also said things that he knew wouldn't be popular but backed them up with reasons and the future long term impact of that.

I went through a phase in 2020 when my podcast app had weird settings used to keep auto playing an old half-played episode of Newscast from the last Tory leadership election when it was down to Hunt vs Johnson and I'd keep getting this interview of Hunt being reasonable and charming and setting out his vision for the country while making it clear that he felt that Johnson would be a catastrophic choice. It depressed the hell out of me. He played a blinder on the health select committee during the pandemic.

Jeremy Hunt didn't say anything about helping anyone unless they can set up their business and cut their taxes. That's all I heard from him. He is another smug one who loves himself a bit too much. Not much about the cost of living crisis.
