Read the thread etc earlier on
The audio is quite faint.
Fans of the current squatter will probably just blame the woman involved I suppose :(
It didn't surprise me though

DuncinToffee · 09/07/2022 21:40

Which audio?

the80sweregreat · 09/07/2022 21:43

The link for the times journalist on Twitter has an audio recording of BJ as well

DuncinToffee · 09/07/2022 21:49

I must have missed that, will have a look/listen. Thanks

DuncinToffee · 09/07/2022 21:52

Found it, I thought it was a still picture Smile

tobee · 09/07/2022 22:11

Have we now got to it's easier to say who isn't standing?

ClaudineClare · 09/07/2022 22:42

@jgw you are baaaaad.😁

YogaLite · 09/07/2022 22:59

Deja vu - I wonder if Boris remembers it...

apologies for posting the same attachment twice (doh!)

More talks about Lebedev and Johnson.

I guess more Cabinet Ministers will have to come and trot out and defend Johnson next week. And no one will believe them

Notonthestairs · 09/07/2022 23:58

Great article. I agree with every word -

The Tory press was with him to the death. Newspapers that claim to be against permissiveness, crime, corruption and the double standards of an arrogant elite defended a hypocritical, scrounging, sexually incontinent minor criminal, who took money from any willing plutocrat and partied while the public suffered a pandemic and economic crisis. Just as America’s white evangelical churches were willing to betray their religious principles for Donald Trump, so Britain’s Tory press was prepared to abandon its moral code for Johnson.

Apologies if this has been said, because I've got 11 pages to catch up on.

About Andrea Jenkyns giving the one fingered salute, I seem to remember BJ doing the same relatively recently when he was heckled by other diners at the restaurant his son used to work at. Just like with Partygate, he sets the tone.

Absolutely.

I was just thinking that, with Johnson, deep, deep down there's at least a reasonable chance that he knows that what his detractors say about him is true. And, when it comes down to it, our own thoughts about ourselves are what matters most to us. Although he's our British Trump, I don't think Trump does know that, mostly because he hasn't got the intelligence.

the80sweregreat · 10/07/2022 04:19

This story about BJ in the times is behind a pay wall online today.
The Mail isn't running with it online , but they are saying that it's Dominic Cummings who is leaking stories about the new candidates and their shady dealings.
I bet they would be all over it if it was a Labour leader who had done this in a previous job !

the80sweregreat · 10/07/2022 04:25

Apologies, the Mail does have the Boris Johnson story online about the sleaze at city hall , quite a way down though

Zonder · 10/07/2022 06:16

Never thought I'd say this but thank goodness for DC bringing things out into the open.

Thank you. You post on the other thread @ClaudineClare is very good too.

@YogaLite - He will deny having written it, somebody else did posing as him.
we know the rules don't apply to him as he is above us all.

Well I'd kinda assumed that was a given it was D.C.?!

DuncinToffee · 10/07/2022 09:30

Hunt and McVey partnership

Sunak wants to call a mother a mother

Tugendhat will keep the Rwanda policy

Nothing is going to change

itsgettingweird · 10/07/2022 09:35

I'm irrationally annoyed that I just really liked what Hunt had to say on Sophie Rigby

Ginajo · 10/07/2022 09:48

I can't bear Jeremy Hunt but I was really impressed by him this morning watching him with Sophie Raworth. Clear thinking, focussed and answered questions rather than avoiding them.

Cornettoninja · 10/07/2022 09:49

Nothing is going to change

for the tories? Nope, not in the near future.

which is why the responsibility is on every other party to go hard on what this cabinet have done for the past three years (and earlier). It can’t be forgotten imho.

Its also why I’m disappointed the line from labour seems to be they’re putting the strategy of working with the Lib Dems behind them. I think that’s a huge mistake.

itsgettingweird · 10/07/2022 09:50

I put Rigby 🤦🏼‍♀️ I think I went on auto type as I've spoken about Beth (sky news) so much lately.

I'm not usually so rude as to get peoples names wrong!
