My mistake - woman contacted the Times in April and has decided to go ahead with the story now. She is anonymous (understandably as she has a family of her own now).

Boris Johnson lobbied for a job for a young woman who claims he abused his power to have a sexual relationship with her.
The then London mayor and MP for Henley advocated for her to get a job in City Hall weeks after meeting her and bringing her back to his parliamentary office.
The appointment was blocked because Johnson’s colleague, the newly appointed Cabinet Office minister Kit Malthouse, said they appeared to have an inappropriately close relationship.

Happened in 2008. He was married with 4 kids.

He has a bit of a modus operandi doesn't he?

Wonder how long they have been sitting on this.

Good grief - they’ve got speech clips. Just awful, totally horrendous abuses of power by Johnson. It sickens me.

borntobequiet · 09/07/2022 19:04

My email to Andrea J, copied to the commissioner for standards (thanks for that email address upthread)

Ms Jenkyns -

I spent thirty years teaching in the secondary and FE sectors before I retired.
An important part of my job was modelling appropriate behaviour, even when it was difficult to do so.
Children need good role models, especially those children who do not otherwise have such people in their lives.
Had I or any of my colleagues demonstrated such poor judgement and behaviour as you did with your gestures in Downing St yesterday, we would rightly have been castigated.
You should consider carefully whether Education is the right department for you - I suggest it is not.
If you decide to stay, please start behaving like a responsible grown up person.

Sincerely

Tim Shipman reporting that last week a Downing Street official was considering a knighthood for Stanley Johnson because he had been an MEP.

They've totally lost the plot!

The likely honours list all looks very worthy ...

"Nigel Adams, whom enemies accuse of persuading Johnson to employ Pincher, a drinking partner of his, has been telling friends he will get a peerage. Nadine Dorries is also expected to go to the Lords and revert to writing novels. Allegra Stratton, who resigned as Johnson’s spokeswoman over partygate, is also tipped for a peerage. A separate list of political peers, due before the summer recess, will include Michael Hintze, the billionaire Tory donor, and Paul Dacre, the former editor of the Daily Mail."

From Tim Shipman

God it's depressing

the80sweregreat · 09/07/2022 20:13

The audio on that Twitter link below from onto the stairs isn't very clear but it was shocking ( if any of it is true) but not surprising either. The ones who still like our current caretaker PM will brush it off as 'fake news ' I suppose or that's how it was back then. Or just blame the woman.

Petronella Wyatt's latest tweet

I should point out, now that Number 10 have issued strenuous denials, that my tweet was, er, a joke.

Yes, sure Hmm

lindy72 · 09/07/2022 20:58

What about the sentence structure or lack thereof in Andrea's statement?

Roussette · 09/07/2022 21:04

Poor old Neil Parish. There's an article out there saying he's 'oversexed' and he can't help it. His wife says he can't help it either. And it's all so vewwy unfair ... you couldn't make it up.

I had no idea about Grant's many other names until I saw the sky news tweet that he was going for the top job.
You live and learn

Yep, he is as slippery as a slippery thing. Perfect PM material!

EXCLUSIVE: Boris Johnson lobbied for a public role for a young woman who says he abused his power to have a sexual relationship with her

The PM was confronted at the height of the #MeToo movement in 2017, when she told him she was still “shaken and upset”

Decisionfatiguequeen · 09/07/2022 21:30

Not enough that an Education Minister is flipping the bird at the public, another one is posing with a mask on his willy - now new Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi is being investigated by HMRC 🤷‍♀️
