I don't want to.worry anyone but my mum is a party member and will have a vote despite her dementia. She doesn't even know what year it is and couldn't understand why the shops were closed during lockdowns. She didn't even remember having a brain scan yhe following day. If I see the paperwork and pop it in a drawer she won't remember receiving it 🤞.

Well at least the bit about mettle is true with Braverman.

But as a leader she does get things done and has made some good positive changes locally.

I don't get why you need a clear DBS to be a volunteer in a youth club but you can be an MP/PM with a massive rap sheet, in charge of policy that affects far more vulnerable people.

I'm curious how Sunak has reinvented himself after his wife's tax affairs became public... non dom status etc. I thought his fate was sealed at that point. Can a multi millionaire who is in the top 250 richest in the UK really have the interests of the people at heart?

@Roussette I suspect with Sunak it's simply that none of that seems quite so bad now that Mr Johnson and his sleazey pals have dominated the headlines for weeks: 'At least he's not been caught watching porn in the commons / sexually assaulting a child / groping staff / being a lying bag of lies'. I remember people said he was done at the time but things have sunk to such a new low that maybe he now thinks he has a chance again.

@guinnessguzzler i suspect you’re right amongst the Conservative party themselves, the wider electorate? I’m not so sure.

Those who took a stand chose to do it three years in, they’re not covered in glory and labour and other parties have already started capitalising on that. They’ll do their best to ensure it’s not forgotten I’m sure.

I understand that Sunak is campaigning based on rebuilding the economy.
