Boris Johnson says he will fight on ...via PPS

Outside of the UK at the moment, other countries are looking on as if it’s a pantomime, it’s embarrassing.

To be fair, so are the rest of us.
Johnson is a crap Minister and excuse for a human bring, but he is brilliant value for political theatre.

MsFogi · 06/07/2022 20:55

It is like Donald Trump - Eton style!

This Trump-level delusion and cast iron solipsism. It’s the same qualities the Conservative party picked him for to ‘Get Brexit Done’.
They’re reaping what they sowed now by refusing to allow any compromise on what soon emerged to be a terrible idea that had been lied about to voters.
This whole mess comes from Tory party infighting over the EU, years ago. Cameron should be hanging his head in shame (again) for facilitating that to save his own leadership. It comes from Johnson then seeing his chance to challenge Cameron as PM and self-interestedly backing Brexit at the last minute.

If Johnson’s so confident of being the people’s choice, then he should do the democratic thing and call a snap GE. But I think instead he’ll wait for a confidence vote, because patently he doesn’t give a shit what ordinary people think.
And Pincher should have stood down as an MP days ago.

Johnson & Zahawi apparently making a big economic announcement tomorrow, nuts!

So Zahawi started the day by stating Johnson was 100% honest, then told him to resign, and now is back to working with him?

They've totally lost the plot. We don't have a functioning Government.

It's not going to get any better. Cabinet still delusional

jgw1 · 06/07/2022 20:58

Years ago surely?

the80sweregreat · 06/07/2022 20:58

If leaving me is easy
Against all odds
Cigarettes and alcohol
SOS : (Abba )
Tomorrow's announcement , tax cuts for everyone! Believe in us.
Beggars belief, but if he is going on down then he is taking everyone else with him too!
Stubborn or what ?

jgw1 · 06/07/2022 20:59

We don't have a functioning Government.

That has been obvious for months, surely?

But hey at least Boris knows what a woman is.

the80sweregreat · 06/07/2022 21:00

Boris Johnson is chucking everyone under that big ole bus isn't he?
Many would have gone months ago.

CanYouNotReadTheSign · 06/07/2022 21:00

I'm convinced Boris has a personality disorder. Surely there's a legal provision for ousting a PM due to incapacity, similar to the 25 Amendment in the US?

vera99 · 06/07/2022 21:01

@tobee

tobee · 06/07/2022 21:03

Lol

the80sweregreat · 06/07/2022 21:03

Apart from having him sectioned or getting the Queen involved , I don't think there is anything they can do is there ?
Maybe they will all sleep on it and start again tomorrow. Doing what is anyone's guess

tobee · 06/07/2022 21:03

Nother minnow gone

stayingpositiveifpossible · 06/07/2022 21:04

Yeah to personality disorder. However Narcissists don't turn up at the G.P and say 'oh dear, I think I'm a narcissist'..

tobee · 06/07/2022 21:06

Johnson is in buoyant mood.

In other news the No 10 cleaning team have been called in to clean up some dropped talc after Carrie changed the baby on a vanity mirror

the80sweregreat · 06/07/2022 21:06

I just looked up narcissistic songs. For the narc in your life.
It is a long old list !

Wrongkindofovercoat · 06/07/2022 21:06

I don't fully understand why now ?

All the people who have resigned have been out and out lying on behalf of the Government and their own careers for years. What has caused this sudden urge for so called integrity and why am I so suspicious of their motives ?

1922 committee will change the rules so that they can have another leadership contest.

powershowerforanhour · 06/07/2022 21:07

"I've just read that they are unable to fill the ministerial posts now as MPs are refusing."

It reminds of that bit in The Call of The Wild where half the the dog team have died and the rest are struggling to pull the overloaded sled on the disintegrating Yukon Trail for their useless, weak, lazy, incompetent, delusional greenhorn masters and eventually the team leader Buck just lies down in harness and refuses to get up.
"What of the thin and rotten ice he had felt under his feet all day, it seemed that he sensed disaster close at hand, out there ahead on the ice where his master was trying to drive him. He refused to stir".

ladymalfoy45 · 06/07/2022 21:08

@MsFogi Do you think there will be a slap with a glove? Demands of satisfaction?
Pistols at dawn?
