Booklover3 · 07/07/2022 13:13

Can anyone sum up what he said please.

They're a Mandate when they agree with him and a Herd when they don't.

Brilliant comment!

I know that guy & I'm telling you -he doesn't think it's over, he's thinking 'there's a war, weird shit happens in a war, play for time play for time, I can still get out of this, I got a mandate, members love me, get to September...'
If MPs leave him in situ there'll be CARNAGE

Maybe this is the “colossal man date” he keeps referring to…

We need a new thread already ShockGrin

But we did get to less than 10 before he went!

Roussette · 07/07/2022 13:23

I think we have to keep worrying. This from Chris Bryant

"He hasn’t resigned as PM or as Tory leader. He says he will. That’s all."

And this from a LD MP

"Resigning… but not yet … and now appointing new ministers. He’s not given up has he? This resignation stuff is just a ruse to give him a bit more time to find a way of clinging on…. Or have I turned into a conspiracy loon?"

How many months will we have to carry on with literally no one in real charge of the government, paralysed and unable to make any big decisions.

Yes, very astute comment.

Chris Bryant says 'Boris Johnson is remaining as PM. So, yet another lie'.

This is beyond a joke. He isn't going anywhere. I bet he loved his speech outside No.10 this morning. It was complete bollocks he was talking. All as normal. Nothing to see here.

From the FT.

"I've had 15 WhatsApp messages from Conservative MPs
in the last 30 mins. Not a single one thinks Boris Johnson can remain prime minister until the autumn. Conversations are taking place with Sir Graham Brady about whether the contest will be sped up."
