Tbf to him that's the clearest I've ever seen him speak.

Even if the content was a load of fucking idiocy.

He still thinks he's got Brexit done.

ATrifleofFun · 07/07/2022 12:39

The man can waffle like no one's business. It was like listening to a wedding speech.

SpinningForTheWorld · 07/07/2022 12:39

Beth Rigby saying it was 'dignified' - i.e. didn't have white flecked snot coming out of his nose yet

Did he really say 'thems the breaks,' Grin

Yes

^Johnson: "I want you to know how sad I am to be giving up the best job in the world. But them's the breaks."¡

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2022 12:40

No apologies

AndAllOurYesterdays · 07/07/2022 12:40

He's in an extreme state of denial. Glad they didn't wheel out the older child too. Would be quite distressing for a toddler.

mum2jakie · 07/07/2022 12:40

Off you fuck, please. Don't hang around for months like a stale fart that polite company are trying to ignore...

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2022 12:41

Still blaming everyone else, taking no responsibility

scamander · 07/07/2022 12:42

He should ask for his American citizenship back and run for senator there.

ClaudineClare · 07/07/2022 12:43

He still doesn't think he did anything wrong. It's all the nasty MPs and media ganging up on him.

I'm good with paperwork. I'll sort it out myself.

No apologies

Noticeably. He’s not leaving because he’s terrible, he’s leaving because he’s been ‘bullied’.

He just needs to get out.

Drivebye · 07/07/2022 12:44

So relieved he's gone. He is so deluded going on about his massive win - it was against Corbyn for gods sake!

scamander · 07/07/2022 12:45

@SpinningForTheWorld anything we can do to expedite, just give us a shout

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2022 12:46

Lewis Goodall

That was embodiment of Boris Johnson and his style. Defiant, bombastic. What there wasn't was what his critics wanted- humility, apology, or any sense of precariousness of his own position even for next months. Not sure at all the tone of that statement will have helped him.

WaitroseWoman · 07/07/2022 12:48

Blaming the parliamentary Conservative Party and herd instinct. No apologies, no taking of responsibility, little humility.

Carrie using a baby to shield herself - look at me, I am a mummy with a lovely baby, you can't be nasty to me - I'm sure baby was handed back to the nanny once inside. Perhaps BJ needs some stress relief on the No 10 office sofa about now.

Blossomtoes · 07/07/2022 12:48

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2022 12:40

No apologies

Of course not, he thinks he’s a victim.

Cornettoninja · 07/07/2022 12:50

I have to admit, I’m disappointed but then I remember that his time in office will be defined by his incompetence, greed, dishonesty and debauchery in history forever.

He will look like a chump with that speech for future generations. No churchillian elevation to one of the country’s greats for him.

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2022 12:52

The 'herd instinct* comment will not go down well

WaitroseWoman · 07/07/2022 12:53

Like Thatcher, I can't see a future Johnson statue being popular.

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2022 12:53

Pigeons will love it

WaitroseWoman · 07/07/2022 13:00

I don't feel relieved yet. That will only come when BJ is no longer PM and the removal vans roll up and are being loaded in Downing Street.

I'd like to see him get his comeuppance beyond one fixed penalty notice and resigning.

I hope, like me, they don’t give a shit about ridiculous terminology like ‘herd’ that seeks to undermine the nuances of societal structures and obligations.

Using ‘herd’ as an insult is basically saying democracy is ridiculous.

Saucery · 07/07/2022 13:07

They're a Mandate when they agree with him and a Herd when they don't.

Cornettoninja · 07/07/2022 13:11

Exactly @saucery. You can’t boast about majorities in one breath then use ‘herd’ as an insult in the next.
