So if he's not resigning we should be seeing a flurry of Minister's resigning...
Are they going to put their money where their mouth is?

We’re going to end up with a Cabinet of Rees-Mogg, Raab and Dorries aren’t we 😭

Honestly she kinda has a point they all voted to keep him backed him defended him now they want to throw him away and party over his corpse this isn't even the worst he has ever done they just think FML the public has had enough how do we stay in power? I know! Chuck out boris people will think we have morals and will vote for us again

Just no they all feel greasy to me

I do think that Patel has stuck it this long, he was loyal to her to a ridiculous extent with the bullying, so I'd have more respect for her if she stuck round to the bitter end.

tobee · 06/07/2022 20:12

I actually feel slightly scared that he's not resigning

scamander · 06/07/2022 20:13

I'm running out of biscuits for my tea. Think i'll do a quick run before shops close. Might be a long night.

To be fair, BJ did say he'd need an army of tanks to get him out of no.10.

balalake · 06/07/2022 20:13

Mr Johnson believes it would cause chaos if he resigns. I thought he understood the English language.

I would go bed. He won't resign.

WaitroseWoman · 06/07/2022 20:14

I wonder if it's true that those asking BJ to resign tonight have letters of resignation in their pockets if he refuses?

BBC 20:03
PM 'absolutely defiant' and won't resign - report
ITV's deputy political editor Anushka Asthana tweets that she's been told the PM is "absolutely defiant and is not going to resign".
"Sources tell me he told Cabinet colleagues that it was a choice between summer focused on economic growth or chaos of a leadership contest - followed by massive pressure for general election," she writes.
Asthana says she's been told the PM put his 14 million votes at the last general election on the table - and that those around him "think they will lose a couple more from cabinet but not all".

Shapps rumoured to have resigned

Cat at the door of no 10. Door opened. Cat not gone in though 🐱 🚪 ❌

Ds and I were eating dinner watching sky news.

He's 17yo and autistic and always makes me laugh.

Through a mouthful of dinner

"Even the cat doesn't want to go on there" Grin

Me too. Though one consolation - if he manages to stay in post he will finish the Tories off hopefully for good at least for a decade...

I'm more scared about 'not having a functioning government...' WHAT?

What happens if someone decides to drop a bomb somewhere in the U.K?

Covid rates go up...?

Saucery · 06/07/2022 20:16

He’s a big, deluded baby who wants to go out in a blaze of what he mistakenly thinks is glory.

stayingpositiveifpossible · 06/07/2022 20:17

Although just thought that one through and we didn't have a functioning government before this scandal..so that makes me feel slightly better(well

i.e it can't get any worse...(tries not to tempt fate).

How about:

Things can only get better (perhaps not though as that was the Labour campaign song when Blair got in).

Apparently my useless MP was seen leaving No.10 earlier. He's the one who advocated GPS on all knives. Not the sharpest tool in the box. God forbid he should get offered a position, although he's a Johnson acolyte and the PM is rapidly running out of them so it's quite possible.

tobee · 06/07/2022 20:19

Only rumours of Schapps resigning? The rest of them? Come on!

And Braverman.

I'm sure we can rely on her to make sure the laws adhered too 🫣

What use has he been over the last couple of years? He’s not made the major decisions, he’s too fucking lazy for a start. The work has gone on, and will continue, behind the scenes, as it always has. The country can run itself quite adequately without him.
Let him have his little tantrum, it makes little difference.

WaitroseWoman · 06/07/2022 20:21

Multiple briefings to the press at the moment - BJ is not going to resign. He's saying it would cause chaos. He's going to reshuffle the cabinet and fight the VONC if it comes after the 1922 elections and possible rule change on '14m voted for me and I've got a mandate to stay'.
