Oh, I forgot. This🍷is For Theresa May, I hope she's allowed herself a little schadenfreude.

Downnotdown · 07/07/2022 09:40

Now the fun and games begin in choosing his replacement. We will hear nothing but this for weeks.

They have to still fill all the vacancies - how do they do that with him still there - government is not functional atm - there’s not a single education minister right now FFS

I've been pondering this.

I'm wondering if all those who resigned as refused to work under him will get reinstated?

How can any of those who have resigned credibly agree to stay on when they've told the world they can no longer work with someone so lacking in integrity?

And who gets to stay? Does he bring back Sunak, Javid and Gove? If not, why is he allowed to pick and choose?

InMySpareTime · 07/07/2022 09:53

Could they agree to rejoin only if a different caretaker PM is installed?

Rinoachicken · 07/07/2022 09:53

Exactly - if they all retract their resignations then there words are clearly all just BS.

If the Tories let him stay, they are signing their own death warrant - the electorate will view it as ridiculous and dodgy as fuck - government won’t function - they would have no hope of being re-elected. (To be clear I’d be very happy with that!)

At this point - they are all worried about their own seats. If they let him stay they are ALL at risk.

ApplesandBunions · 07/07/2022 09:53

He can't be trusted to rule for three more months.

tobee · 07/07/2022 09:54

No one trusts him to go

borntobequiet · 07/07/2022 09:55

Yes Johnson staying very dangerous for everybody.

RedToothBrush · 07/07/2022 09:56

Adam Boulton sky is literally just say3that they are probably now arguing about how he goes and whether he stays as caretaker (i would be amazed if he did tbh).

Igotjelly · 07/07/2022 09:56

BBC just said that any caretaker PM would be unable to stand in the leadership race (Raab was mentioned). I hadn't realised that was the case.

vera99 · 07/07/2022 09:58

Him, Carrie and two babies in his 2 bedroom flat in Camberwell on MP's salary of £86k Now that's going to be fun. Karma is such a bitch.......

Lol

InMySpareTime · 07/07/2022 09:59

Would Tresemme hop into the role? She does not want the top job long term but can clearly do it better than the current holder.

Athenajm80 · 07/07/2022 10:00

I'm watching on Sky News. Who is the reporter in the green coat talking to Beth Digby?

A bit of a distraction, but the tall police officer in the background looks quite attractive. Let's see more of him and Larry the cat.

HRTQueen · 07/07/2022 10:00

Boris Johnson shall have a very very lucrative after dinner speech career along with a book contract appearances on TV/radio

his future will be a very wealthy one

unfortunate bur that is what it shall be

Yes I meant under someone else. Obviously not under Johnson!

He'll probably resign as MP, or else will simply never turn up in the House of Commons. He would hate what he would perceive as the humiliation of sitting o the back benches. n

Yeah, but he'll still never be happy.

With wine all over the sofa

AmaryIlis · 07/07/2022 10:07

Sensible point made that Johnson staying on as caretaker will damage the pound.

DuncinToffee · 07/07/2022 10:08

Caretaker PM? Who has let jgw1 loose in No 10 Grin
