There's no coming back from this. He could have gone months or even weeks ago and spun some kind of narrative to retain a shred of dignity but he is absolutely done now.

tobee · 06/07/2022 21:24

God Zahawi not exactly principled. You might say

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 06/07/2022 21:24

And now he's sacked Gove.

And so he descends into yet more farce.

Please can someone explain to me why?

The No 10 delegation?

Notonthestairs · 06/07/2022 21:26

If he sacked Gove for disloyalty surely he has to sack Lewis, Schapps, Patel & Zahawi?

Right, so a vote of no confidence next then.
Let's hope they all say ' off you trot ' ! ( my mp won't , but then he is an idiot )
The 1922 committee need to grow a pair and fast ! Before any more announcements or bribes or any more stupidity!

tocas · 06/07/2022 21:27

Is he quite well?

Cornettoninja · 06/07/2022 21:27

DuncinToffee · 06/07/2022 21:19

Woah, No 10 has sacked Michael Gove (via @SamCoatesSky ). Gove told the PM to resign earlier today and this the response

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but it feels like the first person Boris has actually sacked?

tobee · 06/07/2022 21:27

Although they are now saying the delegation didn't exist 🦡🦡🦡🦡🦡

Oh yeah! I just thought he went potty and pulled a name out of the hat! 😳

Lonelycrab · 06/07/2022 21:27

Increasingly it’s becoming more like Trump.

Which is pretty fucking embarrassing really.

Could be Patel next then... rumour has it she's told him to go too

He has NO DIGNITY at all now. What a Fool Johnson is. What a Fool he is making of the UK around the world.

He was wearing the wrong colour tie, silly...😀

I'm convinced Boris has a personality disorder. Surely there's a legal provision for ousting a PM due to incapacity, similar to the 25 Amendment in the US?

Well, since nobody has implemented the 25th for their current incumbent, Johnson is on very safe ground.

Roussette · 06/07/2022 21:28

Two more resigs.

Bob Seely no longer interested in taking the money for the IoW apparently

Rinoachicken · 06/07/2022 21:29

Statement from No10 on sacking Gove calls him ‘a snake’ - I’m sorry what? Since when did the office of government use language like that in official statements? This isn’t the fucking playground. It’s the sort of ‘statements’ Trump used to put out…

Who else?

tobee · 06/07/2022 21:29

... to the fake media

Igotjelly · 06/07/2022 21:30

The thought of Gove as PM is little better than a Boris.

Notonthestairs · 06/07/2022 21:30

Gove will be useful to the backbenchers and vice versa.

I can't help but think that if I was a Cab Minister teetering I'd resign now before I was sacked.
