Lewis Goodall

Michael Gove not on frontbench. Am hearing a lot of whispers about his future right now.

Paul Brand

Understand 1922 exec meeting at 4pm to discuss rule changes, then 1922 meets Raab at 5pm.

What are they meeting Raab for? To tell him, to tell Johnson, to go?

Cornettoninja · 06/07/2022 12:32

He’s (BJ) not hiding the stress well…

Roussette · 06/07/2022 12:33

Raab looks very po-faced.

What's the meeting with Raab for?

What's the meeting with Raab for?

Contingencies for leadership.

itsgettingweird · 06/07/2022 12:36

I'm fitted they got told off for clapping.

I really enjoyed that more than the stupid pantomine Johnson usually puts on.

Perking up slightly now it's almost over, but he was hanging his head at various points. Painful.

Boris Johnson told MPs in the tea room last night - there were seven MPs in the Carlton Club last week with Chris Pincher, why didn’t anyone stop him?

Tory MP just says it in PMQs

I heard this earlier from another MP who was in the tea room and heard it too

This was one of the things Johnson said in the tea room that pushed some MPs over the edge into calling for him to quit

Igotjelly · 06/07/2022 12:40

From Twitter:

"After these PMQs It’s not so much that the wheels have come off the bus but that the bus itself has disintegrated and Boris Johnson is merely sitting at a steering wheel in a playground."

Gulps from the criminal front bench now Javid is giving a great speech.

vera99 · 06/07/2022 12:47

Geoffrey Howe moment Javid is accusing the PM of lying.

Cornettoninja · 06/07/2022 12:47

Javid gets it. such a shame it took so long.

ancientgran · 06/07/2022 12:48

Yes, a very impressive speech from Sajid Javid.

Cornettoninja · 06/07/2022 12:49

Boris just walked out

Igotjelly · 06/07/2022 12:49

I’m not a Javid fan but this is a very good speech.

Cornettoninja · 06/07/2022 12:50

Literally after Javid finished his speech, no one else had gotten to their feet.

(for those not watching)

in shock?

Notonthestairs · 06/07/2022 12:51

Another resignation - Stuart Andrew (housing)

Roussette · 06/07/2022 12:52

What a powerful statement. Too late, and he should never come back when he resigned as Chancellor, rather than sack all his advisers at the Treasury. I had some respect for him then. But then he came back.

Igotjelly · 06/07/2022 12:53

Booklover3 · 06/07/2022 12:51

in shock?

In rage. He’s an odious creature. Javid will have said it all in private before I would imagine.

Notonthestairs · 06/07/2022 12:54

I want to believe Javid's words but damn, he's left it to the very last minute to make a stand.

(I did note his reference to being a good father, husband & son being good enough for him 😉 )

DuncinToffee · 06/07/2022 12:55

Sajid Javid says it was impossible for him to keep his integrity while remaining loyal to Boris Johnson.

He says he was lied to about there being no parties in Downing Street and that all rules were followed.

"At some point we have to conclude that enough is enough."

itsgettingweird · 06/07/2022 13:01

Sajid Davis speech was spot on and powerful.

I also think it's telling he was allowed to make it.

DuncinToffee · 06/07/2022 13:02
