Awful lot of people who’ve spent three years in a sewer suddenly taking issue with the smell

Jonathan Lis

Exactly

Johnson is still blaming everyone else...

"One Tory MP who saw Boris Johnson in the tea room yesterday said the PM's comments were sufficient for them to lose confidence

They said that despite apologising the PM appeared to blame his No 10 comms team for the Chris Pincher debacle"

Russ Jomes has 18 resignations

Update.

It's now 18 resignations in 24 hrs.

That's 3x the previous record.

I think Nadine will chain herself to the front railings of no 10 in protest if Boris gets the boot!

Or she will handcuff herself to Boris.

As Boris Johnson's woes mount, a big shout out to @hoffman_noa & @ionewells for their Chris Pincher scoops which - after Partygate & other scandals took them to the brink - have been final straw for many Tory MPs. The future of the women's lobby is bright

Boris knows what a woman is.......

Rosie Holt

MP defends Boris Johnson is wake of resignations “stay strong, stay together, and stop resigning.”

No 17 Jo Churchill

I can't watch PMQs so am relying on SM to keep me updated.

TheABC · 06/07/2022 12:09

Wow - the deflection, the bluster...Johnson is not doing well. Starmer is hammering in the nails.

Notonthestairs · 06/07/2022 12:09

Johnson abhors bullying apparently.

There is a lot of talk of hindsight. He's claimed he acted immediately against Pincher - he didn't though!

mbosnz · 06/07/2022 12:10

I lasted precisely three minutes. This is ridiculous.

guinnessguzzler · 06/07/2022 12:10

I do understand that the bloke, as well as being a lying bag of lies, is a total narcissist and an incredibly damaged person. However, at this stage how could anyone possibly think clinging on is a better look than just going? I know he has no shame but paradoxically he really does care what people think of him; he has a deep need for approval (thanks, Stanley) and his overall aim must be to go down in history and be remembered well. Instead he will simply be a laughing stock. Is it just total delusion? Does his need for power override everything else? Or can he simply not bring himself to give it up?

I mean, if this was your fella, at this point you would be very gently taking him by the hand and desperately trying to help him realise that the best thing he can do now is give it all up and have a nice family holiday together. Not that I hold Carrie in any way responsible, to be clear. I just can't see what possible positive outcome he think he gets now? It's like a Shut Up and Dance / Crocodile mash up where everyone but the protagonist can see that every single minute the show continues it is only going to get worse until he is finally outed as a peadophile by a hamster.

itsgettingweird · 06/07/2022 12:11

Keri Starmer is at his best today.

Boris can only keep quoting the £330 a year tax.

ancientgran · 06/07/2022 12:11

Yes he's repeatedly said he acted immediately but that isn't true is it.

Keir very calm and together.

ApplesandBunions · 06/07/2022 12:11

Oof this is pathetic. I don't know how Johnson can bear to carry on.

Notonthestairs · 06/07/2022 12:11

Charge of the lightweight brigade ... have some self respect...

Peregrina · 06/07/2022 12:12

The charge of the light weight brigade!

TheABC · 06/07/2022 12:12

"The first recorded case of the sinking ship fleeing the rats"

Starmer has laid out Johnsons record of ignoring the indefensible. Johnson hits back about Starmer's Brexit voting record.

"The charge of the lightweight Brigade " - lots of laughs.

Starmer "...now he wants them to go out and say 'he simply forgot' about promoting a sexual predator."

itsgettingweird · 06/07/2022 12:12

So apparently the state of the country is exactly why we should expect him to carry on.

No recognition of the fact it's his fault we are in this state.

ancientgran · 06/07/2022 12:13

How many times can he say "Mr Speaker" in one sentence.

Cornettoninja · 06/07/2022 12:13

Its actually quite painful to watch…

wheres Priti?

TheABC · 06/07/2022 12:13

Johnson falls back on tax bribery.
Strength of our economy...!
