Shall we have a Stranger Things S4 Vol2 prediction thread??

SPOILERS! OBVIOUSLY!

I've just finished Vol 1. I'm excited and impatient and I want to watch Vol. 2 now!

But as I can't, I'm theorising 😃.

Theory 1 - Eleven won't beat Vecna / the mind flayer (is he still about?? Unclear; when the kids were doing some of their own theorising plot exposition they talked about the Demogorgon being the Mind Flayer's foot soldiers, and so Vecna is the five star general - but they might not be right?) at the end of this season. I think this will be an 'Empire Strikes Back' style plot - Eleven will leave training too soon to go rescue her friends, she won't be strong enough, and therefore set up the final showdown in S5. I reckon they've exhausted the "there's a new threat from the upside down! Ok, Eleven has beaten it, end series" format at this point.

Theory 2: related to the above. She'll need to go find Eight, the other girl who escaped Hawkins Lab, and team up to beat Vecna / whatever else is in the upside down for good. Eight clearly has the same power to create hallucinations that Henry Creel / Vecna has, Eleven has the telekinesis power. Maybe they need both to finish him off?

Theory 3: also related to the above. Henry Creel is the father of all the kids from Hawkins Lab - they all get their powers from him. Don't think he would have been old enough to be a sperm donor type situation, so am thinking maybe a form of cloning? In the Eleven's mum backstory it was said she had volunteered for the experiments but not known she was pregnant, and that's how Eleven came to be. Makes sense for just one kid, but the lab flashbacks this season have shown loads of kids - there can't have been that many accidental pregnancies!

Theory 4: Dr Brenner was actually getting Eleven to look for Creel in the upside down in season 1, not the Demogorgon. He worked out that Eleven didn't just kill Creel, she blasted him into another dimension, but as Creel was the source of the superpowered kids, and he only had Eleven left, he needed to get Creel back.

Theory 5: Steve is going to die in Vol2. Possibly saving Nancy? The Dustin / Eddie friendship is being pushed hard in Vol1, I think because Eddie will replace Steve as Dustin's big bother type figure. Also, they've killed off a lot of side characters so far (Barb, Bob, Billy) I think its time someone from the core group took a hit.

What do you reckon??

That cannot be a coincidence!! Perhaps it will take all three to destroy the mind flayer / the upside down for good?? I reckon that's for next season though, if that happens.

I don't think it's ever been hidden that will is gay. In S1 Joyce tells hopper people bully him and call him queer and in s3 Mike said to him "it's not my fault you don't like girls"

But vecna is 1 why would he help destroy it?

Maybe he will realise he will be trapped in the upside down hellscape forever otherwise? And think death is better?

No theories as such. But I heard that running up that hill is meant to play a massive part in the next volume. The lyrics say about switching places. So I'm wondering whether someone swaps places and dies for someone else?!

The 5 confirmed deaths is thankfully just a rumor! They've confirmed there will be a body count but nothing more. Did anyone see the Netflix post on Facebook? I can't find it now but they were even taunting us with Steves possible death.

Agree that Steve will probably be for the chip chop. Sad about it but I just think he will be somehow.

Of course Will is gay - it’s more than an inkling! They’ve laid it on so thick you’d need to be watching with earmuffs and a blindfold not to see it coming. It’s actually getting a bit dull. Although personally I would think that outfit Mike rocked up to the airport in would turn Will off him immediately.

I also have a bad feeling for Jonathan. I like him and everything but he contributes like nothing plot wise and it feels like the writers just feel lost about him/don’t know what to do with him.

I think Will must have some superpower that will come out of the woodwork later too. Like when he’s under stress or Mike’s life is in danger he’ll start chucking band about telekinetically and wiping his bloody nose.

I watched a YouTube video that said it was MYERS and a nod to Michael Myers, from the Halloween films.

Thing is body count could mean anything. Like some random or lab people hmmmm..think be one or two major the rest less so.

Maybe Mike be a bit more likeable these last 2 episodes.m

They've mentioned impending deaths so much I have a feeling it's going to be something like Infinity War where loads of people die but it isn't permanent.

Seems unusual to spoil it this much otherwise.

I will like it best if they've just been telling lies about anyone dying! Leading everyone on to make us nervous and then keeping everyone safe.

I will accept Jonathan and/or Nancy as casualties if it's absolutely necessary for someone to die.

I personally think they could do with a healthy cull 😂 I must say I’m hoping (I think rather too optimistically) that Hopper & Joyce will get married, and their honeymoon will be driving to see Lonnie and beating him up together, then most of the last episode will be given over to their family vacation with Jonathan, Will & Eleven in Hawaii, filmed entirely in the style of an old episode of Full House.

Yes I agree about the lyrics, making a deal with god, sharing the experience so someone else can feel it too... I agree 11 could maybe trade places with max or Mike? I really like max so I hope it's not her!

Because I clearly have a problem, when I woke up at around 5 ish (DH gets up for work at 5) the first thing that popped into my head was that if I got up now I could watch the first episode before DD got up. Fortunately it wasn't out yet (I checked, don't you judge me) so I rolled over and went back to sleep for an hour or so.

Only 7 and a half hours till DD is in bed. I'm avoiding twitter like the plague. A den of potential spoilers that place! 😂😂

I'm holding out for bedtime too, DH is away all weekend so I am praying the children play ball and go to fucking sleep tonight!

We're watching the first episode tonight after dd goes to bed and the second episode tomorrow night so I am avoiding spoilers until then. So excited!
