Shall we have a Stranger Things S4 Vol2 prediction thread??

SPOILERS! OBVIOUSLY!

I've just finished Vol 1. I'm excited and impatient and I want to watch Vol. 2 now!

But as I can't, I'm theorising 😃.

Theory 1 - Eleven won't beat Vecna / the mind flayer (is he still about?? Unclear; when the kids were doing some of their own theorising plot exposition they talked about the Demogorgon being the Mind Flayer's foot soldiers, and so Vecna is the five star general - but they might not be right?) at the end of this season. I think this will be an 'Empire Strikes Back' style plot - Eleven will leave training too soon to go rescue her friends, she won't be strong enough, and therefore set up the final showdown in S5. I reckon they've exhausted the "there's a new threat from the upside down! Ok, Eleven has beaten it, end series" format at this point.

Theory 2: related to the above. She'll need to go find Eight, the other girl who escaped Hawkins Lab, and team up to beat Vecna / whatever else is in the upside down for good. Eight clearly has the same power to create hallucinations that Henry Creel / Vecna has, Eleven has the telekinesis power. Maybe they need both to finish him off?

Theory 3: also related to the above. Henry Creel is the father of all the kids from Hawkins Lab - they all get their powers from him. Don't think he would have been old enough to be a sperm donor type situation, so am thinking maybe a form of cloning? In the Eleven's mum backstory it was said she had volunteered for the experiments but not known she was pregnant, and that's how Eleven came to be. Makes sense for just one kid, but the lab flashbacks this season have shown loads of kids - there can't have been that many accidental pregnancies!

Theory 4: Dr Brenner was actually getting Eleven to look for Creel in the upside down in season 1, not the Demogorgon. He worked out that Eleven didn't just kill Creel, she blasted him into another dimension, but as Creel was the source of the superpowered kids, and he only had Eleven left, he needed to get Creel back.

Theory 5: Steve is going to die in Vol2. Possibly saving Nancy? The Dustin / Eddie friendship is being pushed hard in Vol1, I think because Eddie will replace Steve as Dustin's big bother type figure. Also, they've killed off a lot of side characters so far (Barb, Bob, Billy) I think its time someone from the core group took a hit.

What do you reckon??

I think the counsellor has something to do with it. Maybe recruiting victims for vecna

Chris's definitely had an eating disorder, in her Vecna-visions her mother was making comments about her body.

DD noticed early doors that when Hoppers daughter died the hospital room was one of those in the lab and her teddy appeared in a later scene too. Wonder if that's relevant

DS noticed a recurring hair scrunchie too. Hopper's daughter is wearing it in the flashbacks to when she was well, Hopper has it on his wrist when his daughter is in hospital and Eleven is wearing it in series 3. Not sure whether it means anything, maybe Hopper will somehow be able to take advantage of the time jump properties of the upside down and save his daughter or maybe her death was faked and she was taken by Brenner because she had powers of some kind.
We've worked out which song Eddie is playing on his guitar in the trailer but not sure whose favourite song it is

One thing I have thought is that it wasn't the song that saved Victor, so was it Max's decision to connect with the others that saved her? If so what does this mean?
I also think Will is the end point villain, maybe s5.

DH pointed out that in the fight between 1/Henry and Eleven, in the playroom, the rainbow stripes around the walls flip to upside down when they're focusing on Henry. I don't know what that means though.

They better not kill Steve! I think it might be Max tbh.

Oooh that's cool! DD bought her first scrunchie a few weeks ago in honour of that very one.

Do you know even if these things are red herrings I'm sure they are deliberate. I'm loving spotting them.

I read a theory that its always been Vecna. I rewatched when Will got taken in season 1 and the silhouette they show looks like vecna.

So many interesting theories here, it been great reading through!!

I do think Steve and Will are for the chop, very sad about Steve, saving Nancy and maybe saving Mike. I've an inkling Will is gay and in love with Mike. Will was annoyed at El lying to Mike remember at the start of this season.

I think the counsellor definitely has something to do with it. Is it the same counsellor vecna saw when he was little as I'm sure I remember hearing he'd been sent to various drs/psychiatrists as a child when he was "acting strangely".

I hope Steve doesn't die, I'm sure they geared it up for him to die in the past and he manages not to. Maybe Robin will die or the guy who drives the pizza van?!

I'm rewatching series 4 and noticed this in the episode where Max faces Vecna. Does is say Byers? I don't know if it will be in this series but I think Will isn't out of the woods yet!

I thought it was Myers, referencing the horror film? But it could be Byers!

I don't think it says Byres. What is visible looks like Ayres, although possibly more letters in front that aren't recognisable. Can't wait till tomorrow!

Something has just popped up on my FB feed saying that the duffer brothers have confirmed 5 deaths.

Tomorrow night is seeming very far away right now. I have got to knacker out DD so she goes straight to sleep 😂😂

I read the tombstone in Max's encounter with Vecna as Ayers. Could be referencing Myers of course but it does look more like an A.

I don't think we've seen enough of Will/Mike/Jonathan for it to be any of them. And I'll be pissed if they kill off any of Hopper/Joyce/Murray.

I’m loving the theories. Except the Steve dying ones.

A 20 dice roll is a big thing in DnD so to get 20, we'd need 011 and 009. Maybe Eddie is 009. He always has sleeves on (to cover the tattoo?), says he used to have a buzz cut and doesn't have parents. They'd have to work together to make a 20.

I think Mike might be for it...he got shot in the head at Susie's house - I think that's foreshadowing.
