Egg sandwiches

Ok, so inspired my another thread but... on the sandwich fillings for party thread no one has mentioned egg! Surely egg sandwiches are the best bit of a party tea? I'm now fearing they will die out and become extinct. So the question, would you eat an egg sandwich? And would your children eat an egg sandwich?

No and no! I like eggs, but not the texture of egg mayo. The kids don't like eggs (though they used to during weaning! 🙄).

Snap! I had a runny fried egg sandwich on white bloomer for breakfast but I couldn't face egg and cress.

I like an egg Mayo sandwich but much prefer a fried egg sandwich 🤣

Tomato and egg sandwiches (made with salad cream rather than mayo) are one of my favourites.

Even more stinky than egg mayo, is egg and onion. Very popular here in NI. One of my favourites. I reckon there's a good reason why they're mostly reserved for outdoor picnics🤣

I absolutely hate shop egg sandwiches as I think they all smell awful but love home made ones.

A little egg sandwich made on the softest white bread would do me nicely right about now.

I love them if they're fresh and made at home, or at an afternoon tea type place. But there is no way on earth I would put one in a pack lunch box to get warm for half the day. And I deffo wouldn't be buying a pre packaged one from the supermarket.

I love an egg sandwich. Salad cream. But absolutely no cress or rocket or any other green accompaniment. My sandwich of choice. I love eggs in general (except scrambled which I can take or leave).

No decent party tea would be missing a platter of egg mayo sandwiches!

Yup, I have an egg butty regularly, usually with salad cream, although I don’t mind mayo. Growing up we had them for tea on a Sunday, before the ‘right, now a bath and get ready for school tomorrow!’ routine. Watercress can sod right off though.

Egg and salad cream with either cress, tomato or ham and I’m in.
Or a runny fried egg roll.
