I’d love to know what she threatened him with under her breath 😂

It was a very long time for a 4 year old to sit still. I thought she managed him very well and it was so sweet seeing him sit on Prince Charles' lap. They obviously have a very close relationship.

Hugasauras · 05/06/2022 19:35

God, it puts me into a cold sweat thinking about having to try to defuse a grumpy/overstimulated 4yo in front of a massive audience!

AnyFucker · 05/06/2022 19:36

Imagine having your parenting skills on display to the whole world with a recalcitrant 4yo

<shudders> (not for all the money….)

Can't believe the horrible replies on Twitter. There's nothing wrong with Kate's parenting. Louis is the youngest sibling, he's done really well over the last few days, but he's three. Of course he's going to play up. There are lots of times other members of the family are occupying him too, like when he's sat with his grandad. I think Charlotte had had enough though judging by her shoving his legs off when he decided to put his feet up. Absolutely no different to any other family. Can't imagine why people expect them to be.

I bet if that was Megan and Archie it wouldn't be seen as charming.

Is that a bottle she tries to give to him?

Looks like a froot shoot!

Poor little sod having to sit through all that

M&H don't have to be brought into anything. We also will never know as they ducked out of everything apart from the service.

Totally agree. Kudos to her for managing without screens, colouring, drinks or snacks at that age. I think it was a lot to sit through for the older two, they must have been tired after last night. I hope they have tomorrow off school to recover.

I agree. I think this is the reason they have stayed away from the events, every move would be criticised.

Must be a royal thing,Zara was letting her youngest chug away at a bottle of something the other day! It was good to see.

Skinnermarink · 05/06/2022 19:44

G&C were definitely being slipped the odd fangtastic last night.

Youngest child - I always tell my much younger sister that she got away with far more than I ever did (eldest) - they're always more of a handful ;)

Has everyone forgotten Charlotte telling reporters “you’re not invited” when going into some event possibly louis’s christening 😁

Rosebel · 05/06/2022 19:46

It wasn't that bad. It's not as if he had a full on meltdown and I'm not really sure what Catherine could have done.
Also he's 4. I don't think he was being naughty but just had enough at that point.

It must be awful being a royal kid, having to perform all the time. George and Charlotte didn't look happy in most of their photos this weekend

Parkperson00 · 05/06/2022 19:47

Well done Kate! You deserve a day in bed yourself tomorrow.

I took my kids to a family pub Sunday lunch today. For the three year old I had three toy cars (the little matchbox ones), two books, a set of stickers and snacks in case he couldn’t wait for his meal.

We were there under two hours. He had a roast dinner to eat. I still needed the distractions.

AmaryIlis · 05/06/2022 19:53

I must say, all three children really have done very well over what's been a long and quite difficult weekend for them. I suspect the older two feel they've earned another half term break now.

I think they were really pushing it expecting a four year old to sit for so long. It’s been a busy few days. I think George and Charlotte have done very well. Saturday was a very long day for them.
