Getting there
it is really well located for public transport.

Pudding Mill station is directly outside, but we walked from Stratford which is better connected for us from Waterloo.

It’s only a 20 minute walk along pathways links to the Olympic site I’ll be absolutely fine unless it’s pouring down with rain

Drinking and Eating before
if you want a proper meal pasta go to one of the mini chain restaurants at Westfield and then walk from there.

There is very little outside although there is some street food inside, but I didn’t see that.

Outside there is a pop-up box park type thing with called snoozebox which has got loads of atmosphere and some really tasty Indian street food. Drinks in there also a lot cheaper than inside the little mini foyer outside the Area where wine us £25 and beers £6. They will also give you tap water. The arena sells refillable Abba merch water bottles pictured.

the arena
outside in the foyer everybody is very up for it! You’ll be overcome by the joy of the whole experience. The arena is pop-up and the foyer shows, in the winter it might get quite windy but in the summer it was lovely. Hang around there to soak up the atmosphere. The staff are lovely and the cloakroom is free, but watch out for long queues afterwards to get that so take as little as you can. If you have got dancefloor seat you need to travel pretty light. Security is fast.

seating
unless you have an infirmity GET DANCEFLOOR TICKETS. There’s loads of room and great aircon. The chair people only stood up for the odd song. When we arrived in there about 20 minutes before the show lots of people are sitting on the floor in the dance floor seating finishing drinks and stuff but they soon got up as the vibe increased.

the show
They are rightly strict about phone use, and I saw very little of it. The show will freak you out because it’s so brilliant and even after which are not quite sure what you saw

It’s flawless technically and there is a live band . The lighting is alone is worth a ticket price.
it lasts 90 minutes. There are two sequences where is animations rather than abbatars and in theory you can get drinks then it will be hard to get back if you’re on the Dancefloor seating

afterwards
long queues for the Loos outside but go around the corner to the loos away from the cloakroom. Cloakroom queues were long but moved fast. Merch is ££ but available. then if you’re in a party mood you must go to the Snoozebox. This made our day. Really like being at the best wedding party ever. The staff there said it’s like it EVERY day. Dancing. Singing and laughs.

i think that’s it.

I have absolutely no idea what to wear then??
Is it jeans ? A dress ?
Please help everyone

There was a mix. Pretty much anything goes. I wore a dress, my friend wore jeans. Lots wore fancy dress.

I reckon you could turn up in a ball gown and no one would blink an eye! 😂

Blackonion · 02/05/2023 12:55

I’d say there’s both - jeans, dress, fancy dress, I’d say the emphasis is on being dressed up as if for a night out.

Wear what you like, truly!

I can hardly remember what anyone was wearing but there were a few, the minority, in Abba gear. It's definitely not a dressy night out, more jeans and comfort.

yogacushions · 03/05/2023 09:23

Going soon and plan to wearing a sequin dress and friend has sparkly skirt + trainers obv!

are there lockers ?

Cod · 03/05/2023 17:51

I think so

Spoke to another person today who had been and loved it.

FunnyCradock · 03/05/2023 21:36

I went last week & wore a silver sequin flared jumpsuit. Got lots of love for my outfit (people asking for photos 🫣). Lots of people were wearing normal clothes too though, so anything goes tbh. Some people were in fancy dress (google Abba costume).

Stayed at snoozebox, the pods are teeny tiny but the bed was comfy & the after party was fun. We got standing tickets, I’ve been twice now & both times the seated people stayed mostly sitting until Waterloo. The dance floor is (too) rammed but I think it’s worth it for the atmosphere.

I’m a bit green for those still yet to go - it’s a great night out!!

Clarence23 · 06/05/2023 17:02

I have tickets booked through the access email for wheelchair access but I’ve realised that I don’t actually have the tickets! I know they are usually on your ticket master account but obvs they are not for me as that’s not how I booked them. Can I just turn up with the email confirmation?! Going tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️!

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 10/06/2023 09:49

Thank you for this thread! I am taking a group to celebrate a big birthday - I want to be able to book somewhere to eat/drink before and after the show. It sounds like snoozebox is amazing fun but I cannot find anyone to contact about it online - can you book it is it just rock up? Is it chaos? Will we get in? We’ll be 20 people Which is why I want it to be certain! Thanks for any advice.

AlphaAlpha · 10/06/2023 14:35

I don't think you can book snoozebox just for food/drinks, the food isn't the best in there but the atmosphere and drinks are iyswim.
If you want food first I'd suggest Westfield Stratford then one stop on the DLR to pudding mill lane which is right outside snooze box/ABBA arena.

I'm going again in July and November, went last July and it's just the best fun! Taking daughter and parents next month and a work trip in November.

lookatgiraffenow · 10/06/2023 14:56

For food and drinks, try the View Tube cafe. Brazilian cafe-bar. Food is good. I'd rather give them my money than the chains at Westfield. Few minutes walk from Pudding Mill DLR and very close to the venue.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 10/06/2023 23:08

Thanks both! Will look that up too!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/06/2023 15:49

Can anyone answethis one ?

We went in November and naturally we (DD and I) want to go again sometime .

Is there a change in the songs ? There were a few that I didn't recognise (and quite a few people standing near us who were puzzled too) .

ABBA have a ton of songs under their belts .

I’m sure they would publicise any change to it

Ah thanks , I had an online search (mainly to see the playlist) and there was something about the band agreeing to some changes . But then there would be the time taken to create the new set .

It's been a year now (so I'm crossing my fingers Grin )

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/06/2023 16:26

And I wandered down a YouTube Rabbit Hole of ABBA songs ....

gillybean2 · 20/06/2023 10:18

@70isaLimitNotaTarget
I quite liked that there were a couple of lesser known songs. They’re not all on the gold albums but they are all on various abba albums. I bought a couple of back catalogue albums before going after checking the playlist and was able to sing along to everything. The visitors, eagle, tracks from voyage etc. are those the ones you mean?

We hope to go again too but I’d be happy with the same playlist. My sister is learning the ones she didn’t recognise so she can join in next time too!

@Clarence23 Hope you dont mind me asking - I need wheelchair access tickets too - they yare around the dancefloor - how did you find these seats viewing/experience wise?

I'm not a wheelchair user.

When I went we were a few rows back from where there were wheelchair users and others with mobility issues. From what I could see they had a great view, as it seemed do all the seats, and there was plenty of room.

You'll have a great time!

Nugg · 20/06/2023 13:23

@Westfacing thank you! Its my mum who is and I want to surprise her and also take my son so now got to with up to a week to manage to try and book 3 tickets together and hopefully a blue badge parking space as it can only be done over email! Fingers crossed :)

Westfacing · 20/06/2023 13:31

That'll be a lovely surprise!

Just to say, if it's do-able for you, Pudding Mill Lane station which is directly opposite the venue is wheelchair accessible - there was a wheelchair user in our carriage.

Nugg · 20/06/2023 16:51

@Westfacing thank you again - I will look into this :)

Sakura7 · 10/07/2023 00:12

Hoping to go to this in November and thinking of staying at the Hyatt beside the Westfield in Stratford, would it be safe to walk back afterwards?

Cod · 10/07/2023 06:34

London is safe.
