Getting there
it is really well located for public transport.

Pudding Mill station is directly outside, but we walked from Stratford which is better connected for us from Waterloo.

It’s only a 20 minute walk along pathways links to the Olympic site I’ll be absolutely fine unless it’s pouring down with rain

Drinking and Eating before
if you want a proper meal pasta go to one of the mini chain restaurants at Westfield and then walk from there.

There is very little outside although there is some street food inside, but I didn’t see that.

Outside there is a pop-up box park type thing with called snoozebox which has got loads of atmosphere and some really tasty Indian street food. Drinks in there also a lot cheaper than inside the little mini foyer outside the Area where wine us £25 and beers £6. They will also give you tap water. The arena sells refillable Abba merch water bottles pictured.

the arena
outside in the foyer everybody is very up for it! You’ll be overcome by the joy of the whole experience. The arena is pop-up and the foyer shows, in the winter it might get quite windy but in the summer it was lovely. Hang around there to soak up the atmosphere. The staff are lovely and the cloakroom is free, but watch out for long queues afterwards to get that so take as little as you can. If you have got dancefloor seat you need to travel pretty light. Security is fast.

seating
unless you have an infirmity GET DANCEFLOOR TICKETS. There’s loads of room and great aircon. The chair people only stood up for the odd song. When we arrived in there about 20 minutes before the show lots of people are sitting on the floor in the dance floor seating finishing drinks and stuff but they soon got up as the vibe increased.

the show
They are rightly strict about phone use, and I saw very little of it. The show will freak you out because it’s so brilliant and even after which are not quite sure what you saw

It’s flawless technically and there is a live band . The lighting is alone is worth a ticket price.
it lasts 90 minutes. There are two sequences where is animations rather than abbatars and in theory you can get drinks then it will be hard to get back if you’re on the Dancefloor seating

afterwards
long queues for the Loos outside but go around the corner to the loos away from the cloakroom. Cloakroom queues were long but moved fast. Merch is ££ but available. then if you’re in a party mood you must go to the Snoozebox. This made our day. Really like being at the best wedding party ever. The staff there said it’s like it EVERY day. Dancing. Singing and laughs.

i think that’s it.

I found the second time, a year after it started, behaviour was much worse
lots of drunkenness. People talking throughout.

Hey there, I absolutely love this review! My friends and I are going to Abba Voyage next weekend. Since we have booked it, I have found out that I am going to be 14 weeks pregnant when we go and we have standing tickets. Do you think I’ll be safe enough at the event? I’m a first time mum so worried about a lot!

Romeiswheretheheartis · 26/02/2024 17:42

@Louninety2 I've been standing and it was by no means a mosh pit! People were dancing but not knocking into each other, or really tightly squashed together. You'll be fine!

@Romeiswheretheheartis thank you so much! I’ve been so worried so this makes me feel better!

Romeiswheretheheartis · 26/02/2024 18:34

@Louninety2 I remember getting quite hot and wishing I wasn't holding my coat, so I'd advise wearing something cool.

LarkspurLane · 26/02/2024 18:42

Has anyone gone alone?
I'd really to go but I seem to have missed it when my big fan friends went and now don't have anyone.
Don't live in London but can manage a day trip and usually don't mind attending things alone. It just seems a bit sad for something like this.

Westfacing · 26/02/2024 18:49

I haven't been alone but wouldn't hesitate to, if given a ticket!

It's big and busy and no one will be paying any attention to someone alone, honestly. There is no interval so it's not as though you would be hanging around feeling self-conscious Smile

No interval .... no interval is a gift for solo visitors. I am really tempted. I think I may have to, if it looks like I'll miss out totally, I can't not see it.

Westfacing · 24/02/2024 14:37

but we did feel too far away and hardly anyone stood up to dance so we felt we couldn't because of blocking the view of those sitting behind us.

I'm glad you were thoughtful enough not to stand up and dance in the seating area! It really spoils it for those behind you, who are unable to stand for any length of time.

There is encouragement to stand and dance for the last song though, which is fair enough.

We did dance for a few minutes in the middle as well as the end, DD was quite frustrated, we had assumed most would be dancing in the seats / aisles but it was very sedate and the people immediately behind us didn't stand at all. It was definitely a mistake for us going in the seats as we'd have happily danced for the whole show.

I wouldn't hesitate to go alone, it was a very friendly atmosphere, I got chatting to two women in the foyer while DH was buying a drink.

I agree about the warmth, even in the seats, we had bags and coats which were fine under the seats but would have been a pain on the dancefloor, but there are cloakrooms.

Cod · 26/02/2024 19:54

Seems people don’t like it

Cod · 26/02/2024 19:54

There is no interval, but there’s two songs that are set to an animation when you could easily nip out if you’re near the edge on the standing area

Im looking to go to abba voyage later this year, am I better booking seats with a side view and closer to the stage or directly opposite the stage for a front facing view but further away from the stage? Many thanks

Definitely more ‘face on’, as central as you can get. Those seats are more expensive, but towards the sides, the image is sometimes a bit flatter and less realistic. I’ve tried both, and the view from the more central seats was brilliant.

LarkspurLane · 30/03/2026 13:11

I managed to get some friends to attend with me after thinking upthread of going alone.
Standing it brilliant for anyone who can manage it. It felt like a real concert and though we stood near the back for most of it (somewhere to lean if needed), I went right up to the front and it was still fabulous!

If I was going again, I'd stand/dance again.

EndlesslyDistracted · 30/03/2026 13:13

We were at the side quite far back and the figures on the stage were too small, I'd definitely go middle if I was doing seats again. If we do go again though we are planning to stand as we want to be able to dance, we assumed people would dance in the seats but hardly any did so we couldn't because of the people behind us.

Namechange837465 · 30/03/2026 22:26

Thanks everyone. Il go for the middle. Not sure if i could stand the whole time unfortunately but il dance anyway

I think unless you sit in a back row, you won't be able to dance, no one was dancing in the seating when I was there, maybe it depends on the performance.
But I wouldn't bank on it.
They should have a seated area for people who want to dance.

Goodness. Is the atmosphere not great? I was planning a Saturday evening

Meredusoleil · 31/03/2026 09:57

I went to a Saturday matinee last summer and got back side row seats with an aisle so I could stand there and dance! I was one of the only ones doing so though!

rookiemere · 31/03/2026 12:35

Surely if you want to dance you buy a standing ticket? Due to the demographics of when Abba was popular, a lot of the attendees are going to be fairly aged and I always feel it’s unfair to stand up and block someone’s view, doubly so if they themselves can’t stand for long and the option exists to buy (cheaper!) standing tickets.
Its not a long show - circa 1h30mins - so definitely go for standing if dancing is your thing.

I kind of assumed that most of the attendees would be around my age (late 50s) and very much up for dancing in the seats and sitting for the slower songs but actually many were considerably older, so that was my mistake, will definitely stand if we go again.

CazMcD · 04/04/2026 15:18

Got tickets for tomorrow - so excited! We’re on the dance floor, will it be warm enough for no jacket?

ThePoshUns · 04/04/2026 17:27

Yes you won’t need a jacket! There is a cloakroom there. Have a good time!
