The dual meaning of one word took me in the wrong direction for a while today, but was also the word which ultimately led me to the answer.

Only medium because this thread alerted me to the presence of clues, and I had to Google those clues to see what they actually meant, but that gave me the general area - and then that plus my basic words I generally enter gave me a good phrase in the first paragraph which told me what sort of thing I was looking for.

A hint from here and a bit of Google help, but still not a bad score for me!

My degree is broadly concerned with the related things this isn't, and it took half an hour of hard head scratching and elimination of other ideas mostly on word length.

Yesterday's was a bit of an accidental cheat... I was wtf at "up-on-[something]-[something] so searched for that not expecting it to be very helpful ... but together with the italicised A. [something] indicating a life-form beginning with A it was.

I expect we'll be back to something like literary sodding genres tomorrow.

Got enough to see a clue in the text and knew I didn't know the answer. Google to the rescue.

If I do redactle on my phone and take 65 guesses as today
I can then move to my laptop and do it in 1 and generate a success message.

Just pointing that out as that is what my DH does!

Why? That seems so pointless.
