Well, we are still going! And still learning about subjects new and old!

As before, only rule is no spoilers!

I solved today's Redactle (#46) in 146 guesses with an accuracy of 36.99%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Totally random guess.
I was working on it for ages. Stopped fo a couple of hours, came back and got it in 1 go!

FooFighter99 · 23/05/2022 12:11

Really struggling today! Can someone please give me a hint 🙏

InMySpareTime · 23/05/2022 12:16

@FooFighter99 it's a kind of sandwich

FooFighter99 · 23/05/2022 12:35

InMySpareTime · 23/05/2022 12:16

@FooFighter99 it's a kind of sandwich

Yeah, that didn't help at all 😂

BarbaraWoodlouse · 23/05/2022 12:36

InMySpareTime · 23/05/2022 12:16

@FooFighter99 it's a kind of sandwich

Well that’s ruined my afternoon

InMySpareTime · 23/05/2022 12:58

@BarbaraWoodlouse sorry? It's not actually that obvious a hint, and this puzzle is only up for another 4 hours. You'd need to have revealed quite a bit of it already for it to even be a pointer. I can have it removed as a spoiler if you find it that upsetting.

Boopear · 23/05/2022 13:10

I know what it is and I still don't understand the hint 😂

InMySpareTime · 23/05/2022 13:13

I'll tell you after 5

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 23/05/2022 13:30

I'd never heard of the hint either 🤔

ApolloandDaphne · 23/05/2022 13:39

@FooFighter99 it's a kind of sandwich

The hint means nothing to me and I know the answer.

PipeScatter · 23/05/2022 15:52

ApolloandDaphne · 23/05/2022 13:39

The hint means nothing to me and I know the answer.

Me neither!

I think I also tried the key word that others have, that doesn't show up, so it took an age this one!

I solved today's Redactle (#46) in 326 guesses with an accuracy of 45.09%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Oh well - at least it was something I'd heard of so I didn't end up googling!

Featuredcreature · 23/05/2022 16:11

I solved today's Redactle (#46) in 34 guesses with an accuracy of 41.18%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Lougle · 23/05/2022 16:31

I've still got the redactle from last night....is there meant to be a new one by now?

Lougle · 23/05/2022 16:32

I have redactle #46 showing (and it's solved). When does redactle #47 show?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 23/05/2022 16:35

5pm UK time

Zonder · 23/05/2022 16:35

5pm I think

Friolero · 23/05/2022 17:04

I think this is my quickest ever!

I solved today's Redactle (#47) in 20 guesses with an accuracy of 70.00%. Played at www.redactle.com/

InMySpareTime · 23/05/2022 17:06

Ok so the obscure clue was based on a dad joke:
"Waiter, I'd like an alligator sandwich, and make it snappy!"
I thought it was a well-known joke, but clearly not.

ApolloandDaphne · 23/05/2022 17:26

I solved today's Redactle (#47) in 101 guesses with an accuracy of 45.54%. Played at www.redactle.com/

I liked uncovering that one.

BestIsWest · 23/05/2022 17:29

ErrolTheDragon · 23/05/2022 17:31

There's a couple of (I think accidental) clues in this one. But I had to then think pretty hard to see what would fit them and the rest of the text, with some knowledge of what wouldn't fit. And then go for it...

I solved today's Redactle (#47) in 1 guesses with an accuracy of 100.00%. Played at www.redactle.com/

I thought it was a well-known joke, but clearly not.

What was the actual answer?

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 23/05/2022 17:43

Yeah some weird "mistakes" today, I spotted one after a proper look.

I solved today's Redactle (#47) in 21 guesses with an accuracy of 90.48%. Played at www.redactle.com/

InMySpareTime · 23/05/2022 17:54

@AlisonDonut it was "Alligator" hence type of sandwich.

MrsElm · 23/05/2022 18:04

I got it in 58 guesses. Had got the general theme and then more specific words, and was considering Google, when the answer literally popped into my head and I tried it 😅
