Most unpleasant celeb you've ever met?

I met a well known mum of a celebrity today. I was offering to give her a hand as she had dropped some shopping on the way to her car.

She shouted 'Don't touch! It's fruit Confused' I said oh sorry, thought you needed a hand there. She said no, just don't touch. I'm fine.

I was shocked and walked off.

Have you ever met a celebrity that's been rude? Or sounded rude even if they weren't actually speaking to you?

Would love to know what Alison Hammond, Stan Collymore, Simon le Bon. Are like

Adam Woodyat (Ian Beal)
My XH used to know him due to a shared hobby and always said he was an unpleasant twat. (takes one to know one Grin)

Chris Evans.
Nice bloke.

Which Chris Evans?

SapatSea · 10/05/2022 14:34

I agree with your brother Grumpy. Barry Humphries was partcularly nasty ( this was back in the 1980's). When he buzzed to be let in, the cry would go round that "Barry was on his way up" and those who had met him before all scarpered for the office kitchen and toilets.

notagamer · 10/05/2022 14:35

Anyone remember that very shady story re holly and her husband?

she’d reported her car stolen
police found it. Her husband was driving it.
blatantly a massive bust up
but all swot under the carpet because would spoil her image

Rob Newman came across as an arrogant tossed.

I’m hoping David Baddiel is nice though - has anyone met him?

Hello. Yes. Several times over about 30 years. DB is actually really nice, kind and funny, always. Still a bit in love with him, as I was as a teen.

Simon le Bon is an absolute gent.

Nooo...not Bobby Davro! I tripped over and he was outside chatting on the phone. Immediately cut off his conversation and ran over to see if I was OK! Surely a gent!

I sold Bobby Davro a conservatory yonks ago as a Saturday girl in a garden centre. He was fine, I just treated him normally.
I don't think Davro was his real surname.
Boy George. Met twice, quite endearing. Third meet he was obnoxious & out of it. Gary Glitter. Well we all know he's deeply unpleasant but when I met him he was fun, manic, indulgant, wanting to party, generous and pervy surprise surprise.

Ricky Gervais and his wife are both lovely, impressive, private people. Nothing but nice things to say about them.

Hurray!!

Smudge77 · 10/05/2022 14:40

My husband played a game of rugby against Ross Kemp, and they had a tackle, said he didn't seem bothered by it, he was just on the opposing team and no airs and graces. Long time ago I used to serve John Thaw, he would queue up for YSL Kouros (tester) regularly, I would see him and have it ready ! and he would smile that I would know what he was in for, Never brought a bottle though.

CherryRipe1 · 10/05/2022 14:42

Forgot to mention Joe Strummer (rip) and Paul Simonon of The Clash. My ex knew them, top geezers.

pollyannaperspective · 10/05/2022 14:42

Went to Brownies with Emma and Sophie Thompson and they were just the same as everyone there. I only remember them because their dad wrote The Magic Roundabout.
DC (then age 14) met Gyles Brandreth - on leaving a hotel - and he was just lovely to them when DC said they really enjoyed listening to him on Just a Minute.

clareykb · 10/05/2022 14:44

Justin as in Mr Tumble filmed an spisode of Something Special at a baby group that a colleauge used to run.. apparently he wasn;t very pleasent and was a total diva.

ive just had to google this mum as I had no idea who she was - still don't? Id have not known she was famous

Me too and I am still none the wiser really - she was in TOWIE which I have never seen.

Actually most of the people cited in here I wouldn't have a clue who they were.

Bobby Davro’s real surname is Nankeville - his dad Bill ran in the 1948 and 52 Olympics

Yes I can confirm that Linda Lusardi is a lovely, she was very warm and genuine when I met her..

I met Linda Lusardi at a charity event. She was the only celeb who took time to talk to me (non celeb). She was warm and friendly.

CambsAlways · 10/05/2022 14:52

Thanks TaranThePigKeeper

Soffit · 10/05/2022 14:53

Also, Greg Wallace - he was extremely nice!

dizzydizzydizzy · 10/05/2022 14:55

My friend's dad used to work for BA
In the 80s. He used to say in those days that Prince Andrew and Noel Edmonds were rude.

I used to do a job that brought me into regular contact with celebs and it was ALWAYS the Z-listers who were the rudest. The worst one by far was Gemma Collins, who tried to get someone sacked for daring to look at her. The nicest and politest were Beyonce (although her dad, who was managing her at the time was a bit scary), Tom Jones and Matt Perry. Caroline Flack was also really, really lovely.

Do you mean Axl Rose?

If so, I agree. Both him and Slash were absolute gentlemen 🥰

Yes Axl Rose 😊. I’m glad you agree because everyone I know thinks I’m wrong 😂.
I haven’t met Slash but Duff is very friendly and chatty too 👍

Never met SlB or SC but AH was an absolute diamond. She hasn't let her extraordinary success – BB star to mainstream ITV presenter – change her.

Yes!!!! That's made my day - 😍 Simon Le Bon

QueenKong101 · 10/05/2022 15:05

Gavin & Stacey-era James Corden.

Tried to crash a private party I was holding in a Soho bar by barging his way in. When asked to leave he tried the whole "do you know who I am?" routine.

We did indeed know who he was, which made turfing him out all the more entertaining.😂

PeskyRooks · 10/05/2022 15:06

Has anyone met any of the original Horrible Histories/Ghosts people?
God I love them and if I find out they are twats in real life I'll be gutted!
