Got there, had plenty of phrases I could have googled earlier but decided to torture myself a bit longer. I’ve learned a few things along the way at least!

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 193 guesses with an accuracy of 36.79%. Played at www.redactle.com/

MrsLargeEmbodied · 04/05/2022 19:37

oh happy to reach this:

MrsLargeEmbodied · 04/05/2022 19:39

that was my second worst, after exponential distribution

MrsLargeEmbodied · 04/05/2022 19:40

actually that was my worst!

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 04/05/2022 19:41

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 181 guesses with an accuracy of 29.83%. Played at www.redactle.com/

I finally hit on a particular strategy about 160 guesses in, found a sentence to Google and bingo!

MrsElm · 04/05/2022 20:06

I solved it in 148, with an accuracy of 27%. I did need to Google.

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 66 guesses with an accuracy of 54.55%. Played at www.redactle.com/

I should have got that quicker... suprised by some of the words that weren't used in the piece.

Neolara · 04/05/2022 20:10

I only got it because I was doing it alongside my dd who has relevant A level knowledge. After about 200 guesses I didn't even have enough hits to Google anything.

MerryBloodyChristmasDay · 04/05/2022 20:15

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 78 guesses with an accuracy of 46.15%. Played at www.redactle.com/

So hard, although I had actually heard of this!

Once I knew the general topic I got it by trying every letter and number individually and then googling the clue that emerged 🫣

PortiaFimbriata · 04/05/2022 20:15

Got it in 127.

I worked out the type of thing it was very quickly with some help from a crude brute force method, but needed help from DH, who got a better grade in the relevant A level than I did.

User12398712 · 04/05/2022 20:30

This is driving me barking, up to 412 now and must be more than half the gaps filled. I'm wondering if there is a key term in my head that just hasn't popped out yet.

InMySpareTime · 04/05/2022 20:33

@User12398712 the shape of the redacted words should help narrow down the length etc of the words. Today, letters might help.

VivienneDelacroix · 04/05/2022 20:38

Well, that was painful. Not something I have much knowledge of at all.
I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 546 guesses with an accuracy of 19.41%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Already used all the letters, numbers up to about 10 (in words and digits) and a few random symbols! I know the subject area and could tell you lots about the title, possibly even draw a picture, but I don't have a scoob what it is!

L1ttledrummergirl · 04/05/2022 20:42

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 57 guesses with an accuracy of 43.86%. Played at www.redactle.com/

I seem to take longer on the obvious ones, rope for goodness sake.

That was tough going.

What was yesterday's? I was struggling and had to get on with work and by the time I looked at it again it had changed?

InMySpareTime · 04/05/2022 21:02

@Soul11Soul yesterday's was rope

oldsoulrebel · 04/05/2022 21:03

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 731 guesses with an accuracy of 15.16%. Played at www.redactle.com/
3 hours and 731 guesses later Confused

InMySpareTime · 04/05/2022 21:05

@User12398712 only a few examples of the letter/number combo are the length of the title word, try the ones that are about the right length.

Peckhampalace · 04/05/2022 21:09

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 198 guesses with an accuracy of 34.34%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Had to Google once my very basic knowledge was exhausted (c 150 in when I vaguely knew the type of subject). Not sure I would have ever got it on my own.

User12398712 · 04/05/2022 21:13

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 467 guesses with an accuracy of 34.48%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Bangs head

Should have got it 20 earlier. I couldn't understand why the title wasn't coming up despite having tried both singular and plural form. After an age wracking my brains for a synonym and thinking it didn't make any sense with the word being all over the article, I realised that I had a typo in the form that appeared in the title.

You may well dimly know the word, but unless you're a specialist you're not going to be kicking yourself saying "Oh I can't believe I didn't guess that - it's so obvious!"

Tiredandbored · 04/05/2022 21:22

Got it in 95 today, no help needed from Google which I was pleased about.

Redcrayons · 04/05/2022 21:25

I solved today's Redactle (#28) in 241 guesses with an accuracy of 25.73%. Played at www.redactle.com/

No idea, so had to google.
