I solved today's Redactle (#16) in 61 guesses with an accuracy of 73.77%. Played at www.redactle.com/

I am so pleased with this that I have started this thread 😀🤗

I solved today's Redactle (#17) in 493 guesses with an accuracy of 25.56%. Played at www.redactle.com/

I enjoyed that. Hard but it was my first time on it. Do most people use Google or look at Wikipedia pages, I think I'll look through the thread for some tips on strategy.

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 24/04/2022 10:54

Yeah it's infinite guesses, and I haven't seen an option to reveal the answer.

Andante57 · 24/04/2022 10:57

It took me ages too as I’m not familiar with many of the terms.
However, I’ve tried to find a new one for today and it’s still giving yesterday’s. When does the next one appear?
It’s addictive!

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 24/04/2022 11:03

I think the new game is at 4pm.

User12398712 · 24/04/2022 11:06

It resets daily (5pm I think), so, given that it will take a finite amount of time to type each guess, an infinite number of guesses would be impossible.

Marches self off to sit in pedants' corner

Stresses about whether it is one pedant's corner or several pedants' corner

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 24/04/2022 11:07

Boo, off the thread User 😑😂

I think you will see from previous comments that some players Google and some do not!
I think that as with Semantle and using a thesaurus, it's up to you how you play. There are no rules, and you are only playing against yourself, at the end of the day.

I've got so much of this one and still can't work out the title. I got yesterday's (first time) in 85, I'm over 400 now.

@RagzRebooted would you like a hint? What's your highest frequency word?

OP posts:
RagzRebooted · 24/04/2022 11:44

Finally! 498 guesses ,accuracy 30%.
I did have to ask Alexa some pertinent questions as it is not a subject I'm at all familiar with, but I was pretty close.

Wrong thread!

RagzRebooted · 24/04/2022 11:45

Not wrong thread at all. Arghh this new site is confusing me!

WowStarsWow · 24/04/2022 11:47

I too googled Chopin’s first name, but I got the surname with zero research so I consider myself to have got it independently!
With the current one my mum was Googling to suggest words for me to enter and inadvertently revealed the phrase 😂 going forward I think I will try to avoid googling. As others have said, it’s what you consider cheating or not - you’re only playing against yourself really, as everyone has a different way of playing!

Asking Alexa! Brilliant 🤣🤣🤣

Finally!!! 556 words and only 24% accuracy. That was hard!!!!

RagzRebooted · 24/04/2022 12:17

I used Alexa yesterday just for the 1st name as like others I had the last (lucky guess as I can only name about 3 composers!).
Today's was something I hadn't even heard of, so no way I'd have got that without help. Though working out what questions to ask Alexa was a challenge in itself. Less likely to accidentally give yourself too much than with Google though.

CharityShopChic · 23/04/2022 18:17

So I got the wrong end of the stick with this one. I thought the idea was to fill in all the blanks.

Still fun though.

I actually prefer doing that, I see it as a challenge to make a whole paragraph 'appear'. Stuffs up my score though.

Yesterday's one was very difficult for me and I had to resort to google. The physics one was much easier.
Hopefully today's subject is more interesting.

MrsElm · 24/04/2022 14:02

So I have just realised that I have a major issue today. The new puzzle goes live at 5pm, and that is when I need to start cooking our Sunday roast 😮😫😖😱
Something has to give!

Haha, no! Sunday roast chicken is practically a religion chez Elm.

But once all done I shall be putting my feet up with a glass of wine and Redactle!

I solved today's Redactle (#17) in 200 guesses with an accuracy of 30.50%. Played at www.redactle.com/

Though it was actually 14 year old DS who solved it for me after I told him a few key words I’d got already. No idea how he knows anything about this subject!

BestIsWest · 24/04/2022 14:48

Sorry if this has been asked but when does the new one come out? Mine is still showing yesterdays.

BestIsWest · 24/04/2022 14:48

Just seen! 5pm.

All I've got after dropping in & out of it all day are verbs!! I've tried nouns relating to every subject under the sun!! Given I now have less than 2 hours left would it be allowed for someone to give a little clue?? Desperate here, plus it's all your fault as had never heard of redactle until I read this thread this morning (seems like a lifetime ago)....!
