Alternatives to MN

In light of the recent changes on here I’m looking for alternative chat forums on which to impose my opinions and wisdom (oh lucky them). Until MN sorts out the many issues can anyone suggest some good ones? Preferably not Reddit or Netmums.

But by the time you’ve got used to a new forum you might have got used to the changes on this one?

Someone said earlier that the edit function has been added to the premium users only 😡

So they come on here with their fancy edited posts while us oiks have to put up with our typo ridden posts. 😡

OK, maybe use the time to do something non-discussion forum based. Head outside. Get some fresh air. Meet up with friends. It’s Spring in the UK, after all.

If a change in platform (really, that’s all this is) is getting to you this much, those might be some good alternatives.

It kind of feels like it. Haven’t there been multiple requests over the years for an edit button?

I don't know what all the fuss is about. On my phone (Samsung Android) all that's really changed is the font is different (clearer, easier to read, brighter) and it's a bit different with the way people can quote other posts.
Seems too work quicker too. More emojis - I mean look....there's a unicorn🦄

I would suggest money saving expert but I couldn’t cope with their new site and every time I have cause to go their it pisses me off all over again despite my thinking “oh it‘s bound to be accessible and user friendly by now so I’ll give it a fair chance”

here is ok I’m chrome browser on my phone, it’s not changed a lot that I’ve noticed, I’ve not tried it on tablet yet.

It really depends on your format.

On my iOS app, it works just fine; no real problems.

On my laptop, where I usually read it, it's actually unreadable it's so bad. Also crashes, logs me out, covers my screen with a giant black box.

I disagree. I’ve seen quite distressing posts from women in difficult situations and have been quite humbled by all the kind and insightful responses. I think you’re completely disregarding the good that Internet forums can do. Plus I’ve really laughed at some of the stuff on here. Yes there’s also a lot of meanness too but it’s not all bad.

Tattle. It isn’t just about bitching about influencers. Lots of different topics with intelligent well balanced conversation.

To be honest, considering mumsnet overall, I'd say yes it's not perfect, but it's pretty much the best of the best.

Me neither... but I've also lost my Premium privileges in total - drowning in ads which is the only reason I paid my pennies. Perhaps once I'm reinstated, I'll be able to glory in it but for now, just another reason for me to be grumpy!
