Here we go again! Is this game getting easier, or will we all be wallowing in the hundreds in a day or two? Only time will tell!

Anybody new to the madness do join in. We need all the help we can get!

I solved Semantle #83 in 29 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 7.77. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #2. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 65.94 (998/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

hint was a bit useless but a clue on here got me over the line. Score was pretty good considering I wasted a lot of guesses on completely the wrong tangent.

I solved Semantle #83 in 59 guesses with 1 hint. My first guess had a similarity of 6.54. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #6. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 31.41 (909/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Can I suggest that those of you who are playing redactle set up a new thread? Otherwise the hints are going to be very confusing if you're trying to do semantle!

I wish I had never seen redactle mentioned!

Another thing to hone my brain completely waste my time.

Tried it. Over 300 guesses and now a bit greyer, but got there...

I used a hint to get me into the greens but it wasn’t amazing. Think I might try without tomorrow although the app is being very glitchy for me so if I can’t see the MN hints I might get desperate!

That won't give you the answer but will set you on a better track.

I am beginning to think the Times or Telegraph cryptic crosswords would be less frustrating than Semantle!

I'm afraid that 980 really isn't much use - and I have no idea why it's such a high green Confused

@ErrolTheDragon your track is a bit too tangible, think of other things you might 985 and how others could help with that.

I finally solved Semantle #83 in 150 guesses with two hints. My first guess had a similarity of 5.8. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #76. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 53.99 (996/1000).

It took a while to progress to a green then found several going up the numbers but needed hints to move me on from 985 and then 993. I am not convinced about some of these connections!
