Here we go again! Is this game getting easier, or will we all be wallowing in the hundreds in a day or two? Only time will tell!

I solved Semantle #81 in 156 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 7.63. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #34. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 18.06. semantle.novalis.org/

I solved Semantle #81 in 62 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 3.30. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #23. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 4.19. semantle.novalis.org/

slightly annoyed at myself as normally I put my first green in much earlier.

Lucky to get a couple of greens very early and then it was a logical progression.

A nice average score. Kicking myself though, had loads of the 980s and 990s and missed the obvious...

Average still falling now, 150ish now.

I used the hints at the end. As I was in the 980s it gave me words in the 990s so very helpful. In many other days though a lot of the high 900s have been very unusual so wouldn’t have helped me.

Anyone else not able to play it on the iphone? It's just not registering a single guess on mine. I'll be livid if I have to clear the cookies and history and lose my streak 😤😭

Found it with no hints or thesaurus use, but I can’t claim much skill, I just sort of fell onto it after a lost of random cold words 😳

I solved Semantle #81 in 51 guesses with 2 hints. My first guess had a similarity of 7.07. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #15. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 5.53. semantle.novalis.org/

I got two hints to try them out. They were 877 and 938.

I have 988, 992 and 997 but keep guessing lower now.

Don't use the hint function on semantle, far too obvious a clue! It gives you a high ish green - I hadn't seen it before, but definitely to be avoided

997 is very close!

I would say the first hint was quite a way off. My highest was 754 when I asked for a hint and I got 877. I got lower greens by guessing but nothing higher, then the next hint was 938 which led immediately to 997. But had it been 941, say, it would have been useless. I suspect it is selected numerically so, as ever with semantle, it might be “humanly” relevant to the answer or it might be rubbish!

Did this at the crack of whatsit when MN was down. One low green, a load of nowt, then straight to 997 so quite weird.
