Here we go again! Is this game getting easier, or will we all be wallowing in the hundreds in a day or two? Only time will tell!

Some REALLY dodgy words in this list.

Hard to believe that word 82 for example is lower down than 308 or 457.

Whatever creates this algorithm is gross.

@Aroundtheworldin80moves I think (may be completely wrong here - happy to be corrected) that when a word has two completely different meanings, semantle assumes one of those meanings and ignores the other, rather than making some allowance for both meanings? Stable has two different meanings (and the relevant one here is the less common usage) whereas stables doesn't. Does that make sense?

I don’t know if Americans use stable in the singular - I think barn and stalls would be more common terms. Prepared to be told
I’m wrong by actual Americans though Grin

The vanner thing really irritated me - I was Googling to see if vanned was a word and I found some American blog going on about how marvellous a particular UK-based individual was - a man who has been jailed for horse welfare offences, who I knew of from my old job. Talk about not doing their research.

I liked that one, a good logical progression. Could probably have got it more quickly if I hadn't have got a bit bogged down in synonyms.

I did this puzzle about 1;08 AM -- turns out Semantle runs on GMT not BST, lol. it still took me 80 guesses which is not very quick for me, tbf.

The Answer is a word that most MNers have lived...

I solved Semantle #80 in 12 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 13.29. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #7. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 79.01 (995/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

ps: I'm American & was horse-made as a kid -- stable is a very standard word in American horsey world.

That’s very weird about 82. 771 was one of my guesses because I got high greens with 766 and 870 beforehand.

Well that was surprisingly quick!!

I solved Semantle #80 in 12 guesses.

My first guess had a similarity of 10.38.

My first (and only) word in the top 1000 was at guess #7. (431/1000)
My penultimate guess had a similarity of 20.82

GAAAH! Today was quick but I thought of this word when I got 720 on guess 10, it should have been my next guess but then I convinced myself that if it was that then 720 would be higher.

Seem to be lucky last couple of days with getting greens right at the start! Although can't see the connection from one of my first greens at all!
