Since weve almost managed to fill our 6th thread I thought I should start the next so we have somewhere to sc

If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

Nerdle or Mathler are two I do. Mathler has 3 levels.

I didn't realise Mathler had 3 levels, I've been doing the middle one all this time and tbh didn't find it very challenging. Just tried the hard level, and well maybe I shouldn't have 🤦‍♀️ I didn't even see the brackets until the end when I failed miserably 😆

I solved Semantle #62 in 100 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 9.55. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #18. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 23.03 (14/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

Gone absolutely mental with this next one - over 100 guesses with only one green. It’s 234 if anyone solves it overnight and feels like helping a Semantler out

Hit green on 25, highest is 986 so far, guess 37. Now on guess 66 and rattling my brain for similar words 😅

I solved Semantle #63 in 98 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of -1.28. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #25. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 39.66 (977/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

You could actually get it in one guess from that word, I don't think I would without the other associations but it could certainly happen. Especially if you're aware of Americanisms, but don't focus on that or you'll probably get lost. (I wouldn't call this a clue at all as I think you need the general gist to connect this)

Took me ages to get any greens with this one!

You've pigeonholed yourself. I did, but on another theme, I then opened it up and went more broadly.

Go lower and start on a different trail from sone less specific words or screenshot me your words in a message and I'll name one or two to try to start you again from so I'm not searching each of them.

Oooh or 897 is a good one Choix. Re-work from there.

A lot of guesses required - so many of my greens were so similar yet still took 300 guesses to happen upon the target word.
