Since weve almost managed to fill our 6th thread I thought I should start the next so we have somewhere to sc

If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

If you want to join in the fun followthis linkand prepare to lose your sanity.

If you want to see how we've been getting on up to now our previous thread ishere. We tend to use the threads to rant about how we're getting nowhere, celebrate our successes and laugh about the previous day's top 1000 but please, no spoilers. Subtle hints only here; use DMs for more obvious clues.

Brilliant - I finally got it from this after 209 guesses.
I knew it would be correct before I pressed send because it met the verb, noun, adjective criteria!

I solved Semantle #62 in 230 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 12.39. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #27. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 9.37. semantle.novalis.org/

I didn’t follow a very logical path today - thought I’d found the right sort of area/ subject but threw in a few random guesses
connected to something going on in my life at the moment and one of them was it. Obviously the track I thought I was on was totally wrong so this was a lucky fluke

I solved Semantle #62 in 56 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 5.27. My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #12. My penultimate guess had a similarity of 62.88 (999/1000). semantle.novalis.org/

25 bloody greens. Words that seemed close to me weren't green so I discounted the similar ones.
