@spotcheck

Loveday
I had a teacher called Mr Loveday - we ridiculed him about it (mid 80s) - we were horrible Sad

Honeychurch.

I loved the radio presenter Sarah Morpeach. Sounded so ripe and luscious. Except she's called Sarah Mohr Pietsch, I'd made cultural assumptions Blush

Featherstonehaugh - pronounced Fanshaw!

I knew a Wham. Disappointingly, they didn’t have an exclamation mark after it.

There used to be a Mr Gotobed who lived in the Norfolk village of Little Snoring, and I am not making that up, any phone book from the 1980s will confirm it.

Other excellent surnames I have come across: Shakhamkoukhametova, Bikodog Bi Balouga, Tardy, Houseago, Kok.

I always had a real soft spot for the Kirkhams. They were Bramley apple growers, always wore those checked farmers shirts, and just couldn't have had another surname.

I knew a Valentine, Snowball and Loveday which seemed quite unusual at the time, but seeing the prevalence here, I guess not!

When I was a toddler we had an elderly neighbour who'd been a footballer for the local team as a young man...he was called Fred Forward - not sure what position he played in 😀

At school there was a Candy Camilleri, which I thought sounded really glamorous when I was about ten. The headmaster was a Mr Vinal, although in my mind it was always spelled Vinyl 😂

I love the name Caleb Womble @MrsSkylerWhite. I know a Wimbledon and they're known as the womble 😉

Just thought of a few more, although these aren't necessarily cool 🙄

DH has worked with a Slaughter and a Yule, neighbours at our last house were DeVille (I wondered if this had been changed at some point in history from Devil 😂), I was at school with a Plank (!!!), a family friend was a Moth and at senior school we had a teacher called Mr Pharoah...the latter is quite cool, imho, especially as he was tall, dark and sexy 😉

Smoketoomuch ?

I came across the surname 'Rasberry' last year. Not particularly remarkable until it's paired with the bearer's first name which was 'D'Artagnan'. Best and coolest name ever.
