Semantle thread 4 is almost full and there's still plenty of love (and hate 🤣) for the game, so here's a new thread for Sunday's game.

If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

Although this is a common word in both the U.K. and US, that particular aspect is more likely in the latter.

A friend gave me 562 just after I had got 638. Took me another 50 mostly cold guesses, but then I was there.

Got it in 169 thanks to a clue on here. Was stuck on 990 for ages, had loads and loads of greens along one particular theme. Seems bloody obvious now I know! Doh.

That was a weird one today, I too got stuck on 990 and was thinking along very different lines!!!

I spent absolutely ages in the 20s .

I’m stuck on 943 today…closest words aren’t right, got a few lower green ones. Would love a hint!
