Semantle thread 4 is almost full and there's still plenty of love (and hate 🤣) for the game, so here's a new thread for Sunday's game.

If you're lucky enough not to know what I'm on about Semantle is a word game like Wordle. You need to find the secret word of the day, but it works by semantics, not letters. So you input a word and it will tell you how close you are. You have infinite guesses.

For example, one of the secret words was 'costly' with expensive, cumbersome and burdensome being the three closest words.

This was an odd one - 394 was closer semantically in my eyes than my highest of 638 - I still can't see the link between 638 and the winning word at all.

I can see why! Sorry that’s not much help. Try to think of other things that do something similar to what 350 does in a certain context. That might give you 772 (or 877) and 649 and there’s a very good clue for those upthread somewhere.

I can see two totally different approaches here.

I'm still stuck. Stuck stuck stuck. I have 995, 976, 880, 834, and a load others in the same theme but I can't work out how to get more generic from there.

You've approached it the 'other' way to me. There are two direct routes to the word I would say.

Look at your words, my best suggestion is to keep looking for a 'catch-all' for what you have.
