Live parking!

We have parking at the rear of our home - there’s six garages and space for four cars to park. Someone has parked across two of the spaces (one is where I park) and the only place for me to park and not inconvenience the other two cars belonging to residents is to block the CF car in.

We live right in a town centre so people do often park there and get really arsey if confronted. There’s a big private sign so it isn’t as if they don’t know.

Anyway, is it too early for wine?

My brother is here now - he’s quite scary so hoping CF comes back while he’s visiting.

Once my brother came up behind me at a cash point and was saying “give me your fucking money” - I couldn’t hear him cos I had big headphones on. I turned round to see my brother grinning at me and a man with his phone out about to call the police. When I explained that the mugger was actually my brother the guy admitted bruv looked too frightening to take on!

Sadly I have to use the car at 4.30pm - just over an hour for CF to show up at the door begging. If I didn’t have to drive to pick up an ungrateful teen later this afternoon I’d def be three sheets to the wind by now.

@JayAlfredPrufrock

I did similar blocking in once and the cheeky fuckers ‘bounced’ my car out of the way 😱

My outrage was uncontainable.

OMFG that’s infuriating. I don’t think they could bump my car as it also quite big and hefty but…

I think you’d hear my scream from space

Sod it, pay for said ungrateful teen to get a cab! It'll be worth it and you know it!

(Not that we're all waiting with baited breath or anything! 🤣)

LakieLady · 22/01/2022 15:31

Live parking with a brother in the house? This is reminiscent of my favourite parking thread ever (the Ford Ranger/Forestry Commission one).

I think the ungrateful teen should get a taxi, OP, lest the CF parkers make good their escape.

londonmummy1966 · 22/01/2022 15:31

Could your brother be a kind uncle and pick the teen up?

JudgeJ · 22/01/2022 15:32

@Clomid1

Grabbing the popcorn
You do realise that not everyone likes popcorn!! I'll have to find something else, maybe my Warby's crumpets, cooled, with lashings of lurpak.

Put a note on blocked in car.

Private parking. Gone away for the weekend. Back Monday Grin

This! Please, this!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin And I'll pay for the taxi for the ungrateful teen if you need contributions!

(I love me a good CF parking thread!)

Zonder · 22/01/2022 15:44

Can any of your neighbours see the CF car from their window? If so can they set up a webcam? joking not joking

subsy1 · 22/01/2022 15:45

Grateful teens get lifts, ungrateful teens can take the bus!

SniffMyFeet · 22/01/2022 15:46

Do not abandon your post!!! You have an army of MNs here on tender hooks. Tell teen to walk or get them a cab. Stay put Grin

Mia184 · 22/01/2022 15:50

Can‘t your brother pick up the teen?

FoamBurst · 22/01/2022 15:58

Get someone else to collect teen.

ItWasAgathaAllAlong · 22/01/2022 16:00

@ChiefStockingStuffer

I forgot to bold/reference the original post Blush - I cannot claim the idea about going away for the weekend for my own: it was @Harrysutton (Love the 'Stay Close' reference, Harry!).

But I'm serious about the offer to pay for the taxi, OP! Grin

DobbyTheHouseElk · 22/01/2022 16:00

Your brother can collect the teen with you in his car. Leave your car be.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/01/2022 16:04

I do love a good parking thread!
I agree that it would be far more fun to get someone else to pick up ungrateful teen - or message said ungrateful teen that they should go home with someone else, or catch bus or something.

In terms of being blocked in - I was once blocked in by CFs in the carpark that I was allowed to park in round the back of my house. I needed to go to work - no idea who the CFs were, but for unknown reasons they had left the handbrake off in their car (or it didn't work). So I was able to shunt their car out of the way with my own (very slowly connecting, no damage done) and then once I was out, I pushed their car back to where it was - it looked like my car had been air-lifted out of the space!
Never happened again though Grin

maddening · 22/01/2022 16:07

Yeah, you need to get someone else to help, either with driving or blocking in!

DailyMaui · 22/01/2022 16:08

Brother has left - apparently watching Celtic play was vastly more important than picking up teen on my behalf. I would let her get the bus but ungrateful teen has gone and got herself a job in a retail park where the walk to the station involves underpasses and a lonely lane. AND she doesn’t take her goddam phone with her as there’s nowhere safe to leave it so I can’t tell her to get a cab. Arse.

I can stretch to leaving at 4.40 pm. It’s all very quiet still

Blatant place marking. What will become of the scenario?

That was one brilliant thread!
MissSmiley · 22/01/2022 16:16

How will you get your teen if you can't get your car out though?

Doggydoodah123 · 22/01/2022 16:19

Op isn't the one who has been blocked in.
DailyMaui · 22/01/2022 16:21

Miss Smiley my car is blocking the CF. I can just drive off easily. But then the CF will escape - and will escape the wrath of me and giant hairy dog too. Grrrr.

I was watching a man in a Ford ranger today and I was reminded of that thread. He was doing something quite fastidiously.
