We are cold (not covid) ridden here. So it will be sausage sandwiches with some fruit. I have nearly passed out with boredom, but everyone else seems enthusiastic about it.

We're out for a curry tonight. Mostly I'm excited about the sides and breads.

mommybear1 · 16/01/2022 15:22

Chorizo Hot Pot - DS4's request as he's had a cold and not wanted to eat anything so I'm happy to oblige 😂

ParkheadParadise · 16/01/2022 15:23

Lentil Soup
Mince n tatties

I'm making dd a special dessert.
Broken Biscoff biscuits in a large gin glass😂 ice cream, jelly, topped with cream and mini marshmallows chocolate fudge pieces and strawberry sauce. She really excited about it. DH has refused my offer to make him one.

@FloatyBoaty

We ARE covid ridden and I’m exhausted so something quick to make ... fajitas for DS. The same filling with rice or corn nachos for me as gluten intolerant. Lots of aioli and chilli on the side for me as taste is very muted.

Am also on sugar detox (started after Christmas, before covid) and have managed to keep it up - today’s the first day I’ve really felt like a proper pudding would be nice though.

I hope you soon recover. Thanks

Roast chicken here too! With roast potatoes, roast carrots, brocolli, cauliflower cheese, Skirlie, Yorkshires and gravy

Scbchl · 16/01/2022 15:31

Roast chicken (not had a roast since Xmas day), home made roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, carrot and swede mash and gravy.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 16/01/2022 15:32

Venison stew. I love roast chicken, I wish we we're having that...

QueenLagertha · 16/01/2022 15:33

Joe wicks chicken pie with air fryer wedges
Did a roast last Sunday. Was delish. Recovering from covid this week so need something handier.

IamEarthymama · 16/01/2022 15:35

Quorn roast
Roast potatoes
Roast parsnips
Varicoloured carrots
Cabbage
Leeks in cheese sauce
Yorkshire puddings
Gravy

All veggies from Riverford we have been having a vegetable box for the last few months and they are super.

I might make some stuffing after seeing pp’s.☺️

Home made Apple crumble and custard for supper.

canarycages · 16/01/2022 15:36

Breaded haddock, rice and mixed veg for me and DS1. DS2 will be having pretty much the same, shredded haddock (no skin), soft broccoli, scrambled eggs and grated cheese. He's teething atm and will just about take his milk. Offering him a bit of everything in hopes he will just eat something.

ZittiEBuoni · 16/01/2022 15:37

Stir fry with baked salmon for 3 of us and cashew nuts for vegan dd1.

gingercat02 · 16/01/2022 15:38

Rare steak (2 for £7 in Morrison's) with blue cheese sauce, wedges and roasted veg. Can't wait love a bloody steak!

Eminybob · 16/01/2022 15:40

Veggie casserole with cheddar dumplings. We are not vegetarian but trying to have a meat free January (not veganuary as that’s far too hard!)

goldshade · 16/01/2022 15:49

Ribeye steak, chips, corn on the cob and peppercorn sauce. South African Chardonnay too.

chipshopElvis · 16/01/2022 15:54

Sausages with a lentil stew. Plum tart and custard for pud.

Crunchymum · 16/01/2022 15:59

Roast chicken here too. Although doing it with mash, coleslaw and salad.

Woodlandarchitect · 16/01/2022 16:02

Beef stew that’s been in the slow cooker since 9am, dumplings and fresh bread!

BurningTheToast · 16/01/2022 16:04

I'm trying Nigel Slater's sausage, mustard and pasta thing. Only with spinach instead of basil because we have some that needs to be used up.

We’re having an afternoon tea.

We had a big cooked breakfast so neither of us fancy a full roast dinner. So we’re having a selection of sandwiches, some mini sausage rolls, scones with cream and jam, some mini cakes and a big pot of tea.

Pyracanth · 16/01/2022 16:17

Slow-cooked meatballs in tomato sauce for us. All the work done this morning so just have to heat the pasta when we’re ready to eat. (Sorry sounds a little sanctimonious, I’m not usually so organised!!).

bringonyourwreckingball · 16/01/2022 16:20

Jamie’s dark sticky stew with home made focaccia (special request by dd2 who has COVID), cherry and almond crumble.

RagzReturnedUnwrapped · 16/01/2022 16:23

Another roast chicken here. Supermarket had a reduced 'roast in a bag' one so I got that as its nice and easy. Roast potatoes, mashed swede, carrots, savoy cabbage, Sprouts and cheesy leeks.
CBA to do Stuffing and Yorkshire puddings as I'm low carb and DH is gluten free and DD won't eat a roast, so would only be for DSs.

plominoagain · 16/01/2022 16:26

Home made crispy Peking duck with pancakes and usual shredded veg , and devils food cake for afters ( it's a birthday dinner and you get to choose dinner on your birthday here )

OldTinHat · 16/01/2022 16:35

A fried egg sandwich here!

Vampirethriller · 16/01/2022 16:39

Salmon fondue, recipe from a 70s book I got for Xmas.
