That AC-12 spoof is pretty brutal Shock

itsgettingweird · 18/01/2022 17:47

BJ is the PM.

He made the rules and sanctioned the laws.

Yet his defence is "no one told me it was against the rules".

He's such a twat 🤦‍♀️

rrhuth · 18/01/2022 17:52

I know, I just love the idea that he had no clue what the rules were!

They have always said he is 'not a details person' Grin

It is.

Very well done and actually really hard hitting.

ENoeuf · 18/01/2022 17:56

Led by Donkeys are amazing at this stuff. Really nail it.

rrhuth · 18/01/2022 17:58

I think it is indeed very hard-hitting. I think there is so much anger because actually - most of us did follow the rules, rich and poor alike. We followed the rules because we are fundamentally OK human beings who wanted to do the right thing.

The reason the government thought others would not follow the rules is pretty clear now Angry - judging us by their shitty standards.

TokyoSushi · 18/01/2022 18:02

The Led By Donkeys piece is excellent and actually made me quite emotional. We all worked so hard to do what we were told was right, it was awful, and they absolutely didn't care at all. It's a disgrace and he should resign, ASAP.

longwayoff · 18/01/2022 18:10

Let me get this straight. While Boz was popping up on our TVs telling us what the rules were, what we could do and what we could not, we are supposed to now believe that those straightforward instructions were so complex and bewildering that our Oxford educated brilliant PM didnt understand them? That's ok then.

Quote of the day !! So true

Give Boris Johnson a break!

There were 65 Covid press briefings before 20th May 2020, a lot of them hosted by Boris Johnson, so it was very unlikely that Boris Johnson would have been able to find out what the rules were.

It's hard life, isn't it, being forced to take on the job of PM?

Oh wait - he wanted to do it.

jgw1 · 18/01/2022 20:55

Have I understood correctly that despite all of Clavinova's protestations that there was no party, Boris' is defence is now that no one told him parties were against the rules. Well worth the effort of our friendly Big Dog fans tying themselves in knots trying to justify the party last week.

the80sweregreat · 18/01/2022 21:02

' you must stay at home ' ( and have parties )
That might have made sense ?
But then more people would have died :(
What were they thinking , really ?

JustJam4Tea · 18/01/2022 22:02

Very good and moving. Loved the led by donkeys one.

DuncinToffee · 19/01/2022 17:54

Private Eye Magazine
Downing Street officials offered to waive restrictions on mourners for Prince Philip’s funeral. The Queen refused, on the grounds she wanted to set an example rather than be an exception to the rules. So they threw two parties instead. Full story in the brand new Private Eye.

Eve · 24/01/2022 22:49

Just wondering- do we reuse this thread for another fucking fabulous party - or start a new thread?

JustJam4Tea · 25/01/2022 06:14

There is another thread already. But the whole of mumsnet would be full if we had a new thread for every fucking fabulous party.

It’s a shame press are calling it a party rather than a (still illegal) gathering. As tBF happy birthday and Colin the caterpillar isn’t a party. But still fucking illegal.
