Been watching and listening to a lot of George on Spotify and YouTube lately. Beautiful voice, still miss him! Anyone else?

I absolutely adored George Michael. I saw him twice in Sydney on his Faith Tour in 1987/88 .Definitely the best and was absolutely heartbroken when he died Sad

Measureformeasure · 02/01/2022 21:54

I miss him too. I feel that his music has been the soundtrack in the background of most of my life. Wham! when I was a child, Faith and Listen without Prejudice as I grew and now I'm listening to Older and connecting with it. Jesus to a Child makes me cry. Every time.

Some of his fans are continuing his charity work on Facebook. There's a groups of "Lovelies" that auction items for George's charities. I think it's a perfect way to remember him.

So missed. Such a beautiful man. The village he died in was where I grew up. I met him once on a walk by the river a few years before he died. Very polite man. Still can't believe he's gone 😢

Yes I do. One my favourite songs of his is Kissing a Fool.

Dontgetyerknicksinatwist · 02/01/2022 21:57

I grew up listening to his lovely music and felt so sad when he died. I heard he was very supportive towards Gerri Halliwell when she was having some problems. He seemed like a lovely caring person. I think some people took advantage of him during his life which is great shame.

LuluBlakey1 · 02/01/2022 21:59

I love 'Jesus to a Child'. Makes me feel really emotional.

PolaDeVeboise · 02/01/2022 22:02

Miss him like hell. To quote one of his own lyrics - heaven sent, and heaven stole.

elelel · 02/01/2022 22:02

The thing George Michael gave me was the ability to feel the lyrics. No one else has every matched him.

LuluBlakey1 · 02/01/2022 22:04

Just listening to 'A Different Corner' on Spotify - it's lovely. I'd forgotten how lovely. He had such a voice!

George Michael- The Musical- could be fabulous.

Dodahdajdodah · 02/01/2022 22:05

He was pure magic.

WheelOfThyme · 02/01/2022 22:06

Nothing that hasn't already been said, but an amazing talent and he sounded a lovely man.

shivermetimbers77 · 02/01/2022 22:06

Ah yes, I really miss him too. Listen without Prejudice is my favourite of his albums , incredible lyrics.. My mum adored him too and I am relieved that she died a few months before him as she would have been utterly heartbroken if she had known he had died so young.

HelloBunny · 02/01/2022 22:08

His songs & his voice are so beautiful.

Jesus To A Child is my favourite.

yourestandingonmyneck · 02/01/2022 22:10

Could take or leave his music but adored him as a person.

Thought he was great. Would love to have known him.

Unused to volunteer for a very small and local counselling service in the Midlands. The main funding they got to keep it going was from George Michael and we were not allowed to tell people at the time.

Lovely lovely man.

“It's hard to love there's so much to hate, hanging on to hope when there is no hope to speak of and the wounded skies above say 'it's much too late,' so maybe we should all be praying for time.” ⭐️

His voice is so rich and incredible. Absolutely gives me goosebumps. Happened on the radio 2 tribute yesterday and loved it.

Gutted I never saw him sing live. Sad

Love that ❤️

AnyFucker There's a gorgeous version of You Have Been Loved from his Unplugged concert in 1996, it's divine, as is the whole concert, made more special in that his mum is in the audience. I think you can watch the whole concert on YouTube.

MintMatchmaker · 02/01/2022 22:17

@GrahamNortonsjacket

His performance of Somebody to Love at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert just showed how amazing his voice was and what a fantastic performer, as well as songwriter, he was.
I watched this a couple of times on NYE (and many many times previously). It is such a perfect performance.
Paddingtonthebear · 02/01/2022 22:21

Ahh brilliant, the George memory lives on for so many people 🙌

I love George Michael, I always feel a tinge of sadness when I watch the "Last Christmas" video, he was such a lovely bloke...gone way too soon.

evilharpy · 02/01/2022 22:23

Always thought he was a beautiful human being (in many ways) but I had no idea what a good person he truly was until after his death when some of his many acts of kindness started to come out - there are so many lovely stories. Truly someone who used his fame and fortune to make the world a better place. So very sad that he's no longer with us.

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/01/2022 22:23

In a funny way, he also lives in in Whammegedon! Silly as it is, it means people remember.
