Where was Boris Johnson?

RoyalFamilyFan · 30/12/2021 15:30

Does anyone know where Boris Johnson was over the last ten days? He was interviewed and asked if he had been abroad. He said of course not and did a laugh as if he was lying.
So where has he been?

OP posts:
fucketyfuckwit · 30/12/2021 17:31

However much I can't stand the man, he had a new baby, another young child, has been in charge of a country during a pandemic for the past 2 years.

The man is on his knees. He needs a break.

Who cares where he was.

StealthPolarBear · 30/12/2021 17:31

How many times do you think he's seen this new baby? I suspect iv spent more time with my mother in law.

gorseinon · 30/12/2021 17:32

@JinglingHellsBells I have sympathy for anyone whose mother dies, but the other things you mention are all of his own choosing. I'd even say his own carelessness led to him catching Covid 19, not that the severity of it I'd have wished on anyone.
@MissLucyEyelesbarrow Germany has a totally different healthcare system to the NHS.
It does - which caused many difficulties in their public health response and vaccination programme, because it's so federalised. But they still managed a far better outcome than us - as did almost every other European country.

The idea that no one could have done better than the current government flies in the face of all the evidence.

Lindy2 · 30/12/2021 17:32

@MissLucyEyelesbarrow

No one would have done any better

Germany has had half our death rate, despite having huge land borders with many other countries.

We have had the highest death rates in Europe, after Bosnia and Italy.

I think you need to have a look at the statistics on the Worldometer. The information you've stated is not correct.
UnconditionalSurrender · 30/12/2021 17:34

No one would have done any better so there's no point in slagging him off for a pandemic not of his making.

The Boris bots are out in force today.
He's a lazy, narcissistic, irresponsible, lying moral vaccuum of a human being who has proved himself unfit to be a minister never mind a prime minister.
And no its not ok to go MIA when the pandemic is escalating and abdicate all responsibility because you afraid of the ultra right wing nutters in your party. Though maybe he was a drying out clinic. In Mustique.

KeflavikAirport · 30/12/2021 17:34

Having non elected stand in MPs isn't reasonable though.

Other countries have stand-in MPs. It's perfectly feasible.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 30/12/2021 17:34

Germany has had 1,272 deaths per million population, the UK had 2,184.

Havanananana · 30/12/2021 17:35

@JinglingHellsBells

why do you think you are owed an account of what the PM does in his own time?

I didn't ask the question - the journalist did, thinking (correctly in my view) that the nation might be interested in where Johnson had been.

You know - Johnson, the Prime Minister. The man in charge in the middle of the greatest pandemic of the last century, as well as the period of greatest economic disruption that anyone currently alive will have known. The man who by his own account is leading the nation - and as such is accountable to the nation for his actions. He's not some 9-to-5 worker drone who clocks off and goes home at the end of a working day.

Anyway, I'm not really interested in what he was doing - but I'm very interested that instead of giving a straightforward answer to a straightforward question, he resorted to his usual bluff and bluster and came across yet again as a man who had been caught with his metaphorical pants around his ankles.

Maybe it was a business meeting. In mustique. Or he was testing his eyesight. We simply don't know and so shouldn't judge.

@StealthPolarBear

Alas, I did forget world beating
You have taken responsibility for your omission, an example to our PM. You are an honourable person.
girlmom21 · 30/12/2021 17:37

I just remembered - he had a meeting with Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick a few days ago.

The OP asked the question here.

Nope. nation is not interested. I didn't even know about the 'interview' and now I do, I can't even be arsed to engage with the nonsense.

ElvisPresleyHadABaby · 30/12/2021 17:38

Certainly somewhere with a lot of sun and probably gullible women. Unless his make up team recently transferred from the Trump administration.

I agree they are of his own choosing, but you still have to accept the physical and emotional toll.

We don't have to do what other countries do. Where is the democracy in an non elected MP? Who chooses them and on what basis? If there is a close vote on something could a non elected MP cast the decisive vote? Might be feasible might not be democratic.
Lindy2 · 30/12/2021 17:40

MissLucy's statement on death rates is so far off I'll post something a bit more accurate myself because misinformation like that really annoys me.

I'm not saying our death rates are ok but MissLucy please educate yourself as to the current real situation around the world before claiming to state facts.

Where was Boris Johnson?

Yes those hectic meetings in the garden drinking wine. None of us know what real work is.

Do you think it was the wine that put him on his knees?

If you can't be arsed to engage its funny that you opened and posted on a thread about it.

So why not be honest and say that and say where he's been?

Because saying "quite frankly, I'm fucking exhausted" doesn't quite give off the best vibe.

And yeah I know neither does lying but he can't tell the trust without people using it to say he's incapable anyway...

Why would he need to say he was exhausted? Perfectly reasonable to say he's had a few days off for paternity leave/Christmas or whatever.
