@WonderfulYou

Sorry I disagree . I don’t see how we as society can judge who needs sterilisation. For a start there are thousands of irresponsible wayward dads who don’t give a dam about their children and we have to pick up the bill. Disabled people , special needs people etc etc

It’s a no from me ..

danni0509 · 14/12/2021 21:23

@TheNamelessGirl I agree. I don’t think star should of been with her full stop.

Itsnotover · 14/12/2021 21:23

Whether or not the law in its current form is fit for purpose is another argument. But changes in the law affect us all.

You’ve got to be quite dim to assume that I would condone FS’s inaction and cruel treatment of her daughter. There is literally nowhere that I have said that.

I can’t speak for FS’s family but if I were in their shoes I would get more peace from the possibility that FS could be rehabilitated and learn from her mistakes. Rather than throw her in prison to be ‘tortured’ 🤨

It’s not ok to suggest people who commit crimes should never be rehabilitated if they are capable of it. Just because you’re upset and horrified (which we all are)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/12/2021 21:24

In the trial reports , Smith seemed to very conveniently forget a lot of the facts raised in question.
Like when they asked about her treatment of Star - the scaring her awake , the 2 of them videoing her falling off her chair , the filming her as she cried in pain climbing the stairs- if she considered this was cruel . Her reply was oftem I don;t remember that
Maybe her soliciter adviced her to say this ?

Brockhill punched Smith square in the face with a bottle . In the toilets with three other (smaller weaker ) women , she claims she was grabbed by the arm. It would either be Smith, her Mum or Smiths sister.
Brockhill is a trained security guard , worked on door security and boxer to Olympic standard .
Did she fuck panic and lash out in reflex . Her training would have been a measured response . And yes she'd been drinking but still able to drive home .
And how she wriggled out of the video footage of her punching and slapping Star at the recycling centre .

Hopefully tomorrows sentencing will reflect the seriousness of their respective crimes .

Unsure33 · 14/12/2021 21:24

@TheNamelessGirl

But apparently she did look after star with family support until the new partner came along .

Itsnotover · 14/12/2021 21:25

Then she should never have been allowed sole care of Star or any child in the first place.

I agree.

CantBeAssed · 14/12/2021 21:26

@MONSTERSALAD did you see the bruises on that poor wee mites face? Are you seriously trying to say that "not very bright FS" couldn't grasp her child was being seriously hurt and in pain and did not have one tiny bit of instinct to tell her to protect her child!

Hearwego · 14/12/2021 21:27

Little Arthur’s case was only a few weeks ago.
Whats going on with these parents, allowing their partners to abuse and murder their own children?
Star’s death was almost like poor Arthur’s, death. What’s going on in this country?

Sweetmayday · 14/12/2021 21:28

Seriously nameless girl, do you think it right to call people with learning disabilities stupid and thick?

Itsnotover · 14/12/2021 21:28

What’s going on is that during the first lockdown in particular, sadists felt that they could hurt people undetected and unseen.

Hearwego · 14/12/2021 21:29

I hope Brockhill gets a very long minimum term. It won’t bring poor Star back, but will spare another child being harmed by her.
She’s a dangerous thug who should never be released.

FallingStar21 · 14/12/2021 21:29
@FallingStar21 why would the Judge feel it was relevant then?
I've no idea @itsnotover
What I personally consider relevant is that her IQ is supposedly too low for her to realise that she was abusing her daughter, yet high enough to lie about the abuse.

Unsure33 · 14/12/2021 21:30

I have seen a lot of posts on here from women with very young children \ babies who put up with incomprehensible abuse from their partners and still don’t want to leave . It seems they also are living in some parallel world where huge wrongs become acceptable. I don’t see you condemning all of them.

onewayandday · 14/12/2021 21:30

@Itsnotover

Exactly this. Whilst people on here screaming for lockdown and school closures, this shit is going undetected. I'm so angry. School, for a lot of children, is their only place of security and they were shut for months.

lollipoprainbow · 14/12/2021 21:30

*I couldn’t agree more about Star’s father. He himself has a criminal record of violence and he had PR. He could easily have removed Star from FS at least temporarily if he really wanted to. But the truth is he wasn’t interested in her.

The men in these situations always get a free pass.*

He didn't kill her though did he ? Or stand by and watch her be abused ??

Itsnotover · 14/12/2021 21:30

@Sweetmayday

Seriously nameless girl, do you think it right to call people with learning disabilities stupid and thick?
People like Namelessgirl most certainly don’t have relatives with learning difficulties Hmm
Unsure33 · 14/12/2021 21:31

And FS has actually been found guilty not innocent.

TheNamelessGirl · 14/12/2021 21:31

I didn't say that. And it's not "inaction" - she actively abused her daughter as well. There is CCTV footage of it and she admitted 8 counts of child cruelty. She had videos of abuse of Star on her phone. She wasn't a bystander in all of this.
Hearwego · 14/12/2021 21:32

I wonder if the government look at these horrific child abuse deaths and link them to lockdowns?
Would these cases stop lockdowns from happening? Domestic abuse towards children and women, I would dread to think how victims there must be.

MONSTERSALAD · 14/12/2021 21:32

Yes, I did.

I think that what is obvious to other people might not be as clear to someone with a clear cognitive deficit, such as FS. Coupled with the fact that she's very compliant? Yes, I can see how she might have had the initial thought that the bruise looked bad, but then bowed to or was reassured by SB's views on the matter.

Her own mother also thought that Star was just throwing a tantrum when out and about (when she was actually being made to walk on a broken leg), so it doesn't sound like her earlier influences would have helped her to think critically about Star's wellbeing and welfare, either. This is what I mean about it not being as simple as just FS BAD.

She is the sort of person who could potentially become a serial killer I think. If she got away with this, she’d move on with more campaigns of harm.

She’s terrifying.

lollipoprainbow · 14/12/2021 21:33

Just reading trial updates. Usual bollocks about 'lessons being learnt' how many times do we hear this and it happens time and time again. How about 'heads will roll' regarding the utterly incompetent social workers ???

TheNamelessGirl · 14/12/2021 21:34

People like Namelessgirl most certainly don’t have relatives with learning difficulties

Ok then. Wrong I'm afraid.

There is a difference between having a learning disability and being stupid. Many people with learning disabilities are very intelligent so frankly this is really offensive.

Hearwego · 14/12/2021 21:34

I don’t understand these women who meet partners and abuse the children of those partners.
Why not meet someone childless if you hate their children so much?

Unsure33 · 14/12/2021 21:34

@Itsnotover

Then the family should have taken star in . Which it seems like they did try to do .
