AnnieSnap There is a news article on either Birmingham live or Coventry news website where a detective expressly says that the case was unusual because "there was a cctv camera in the living room" so they looked at footage which showed that Arthur was not in the living room much when the others were but that they could hear him (I assume in the hall) and that that was part of evidence proving neglect. I was just wondering who put the cctv camera in the living room. Also that footage of him picking up his duvet etc - i got the impression that was cctv not someone filming it on their phone

if the above is true that is incredible.
I wonder whether the hairdresser was called as a witness.

The pictures you saw are what the grandma took.
When the sw examined him they missed that bruise, his top was not off at all during the sw visit and he was asked to lift up his top and they saw one faint bruise in the middle of his back.
I've been following the trial evry single day.

The sw were weak and feeble and didn't put Arthur's first.

Child poverty was horrendous under the last Labour government and the openly admitted they failed on children.

The problem here was not the tories and a lack of funding (general lack of funding under any government is not in dispute).

The sw who went were rubbish. That's it.

@FestiveMelts well yes. Exactly. I’ve followed the whole case closely in the live trial updates and the hairdresser and boyfriend are not exactly guilt free in all this. They should have rung 999 - they saw the state Arthur was in on the day before he died and on the actual day Tustin fatally assaulted him.

Yes she was. And her boyfriend. They both stated basically they knew Arthur was being treated terribly but felt it wasn’t their place to report.

@Bagelsandbrie and @bubblesbubbles11 I didn’t know there was CCTV as well as the videos and audio recordings they took. It’s hard to understand (not condone, but have some understanding) the motivation for actions like this, but them both having repeatedly made recordings of Author’s suffering suggests they are sadists in the true sense of the word.

Yes-I’ve rang them and reported to them online-it was them who put in to ss only for ss to ring her

I swear I’ve tried everything-I cried down the phone to them a year ago
I told them everything,I put the eldest on the phone and she told them what had been going on

They didn’t even bother going to speak to her-cos of Covid

It’s been banging my head against a brick wall

She did have a family support worker at one point

this lady expressed concerns to the teachers but was shut down as it didn’t reach the level ss would become involved

she’d thrown a hairbrush at the child,which hit the mirror behind her-of course it shattered all over the child,cutting her while screaming at the child-another concern was mum didn’t cook for them-they lived on curry flavoured pot noodles,toast and crisps-they are fed so what’s the problem?both kids look grey because of their diets,but as they wear next clothes and Clark’s shoes and their hair is brushed what’s the problem?

Mum told her to do one (not in such words) so this lady backed off and left the school for another post and nobody has been back since even tho I keep reporting her-and I’m not going to stop reporting her even tho ss seem to be shoving their heads up their arses

More children are going to die,more ‘lessons will be learnt’ and more children are going to die as the only lessons that are learnt is arse covering from the higher ups

(This lady isn’t from a dangerous family at all-ss seem to back off from ‘those’ families-she’s just got a forcefield around her,or so it seems)

I also just do not understand why, if Emma Tustin "begged her boyfriend to return Arthur to the care of his grandparents" why Thomas Hughes did not do that? It must have been obvious to Thomas Hughes that his girlfriend just wanted him, not his kid (there were reports that Tustin was somehow jealous of Arthurs birth mother). The grandparents seemed willing. If all you wanted to do all day is shag your (horrible) girlfriend then agreeing to move your kid to your parents house seems unproblematic. Maybe his reluctance was something to do with lock down - i dont know.

Apparently the hairdresser didn’t want to get into trouble for breaking lockdown. I know she didn’t harm him but she deserves to lose sleep over her ability to look the other way. Then again, if you read how hard his grandmother and uncle tried to get him help and were ignored I doubt anything would have been done if the hairdresser had reported it.

No doubt “lessons will be learned”. Bloody useless and a complete overhaul of child protection is warranted.

RIP Arthur.

I’m not sure of Arthur’s relationship with his mother, but I saw in one article that she is in prison because she killed her current partner during a drug and alcohol fuelled rage. She had also previously stabbed the boyfriend in the arm when Arthur was in the house. This poor boy has never known peace or normality. The poor poor lamb ☹️

So Tustin's logic was to try to catch on CCTV Arthur attacking her or whatever (as per what she said on the police bodycam when she was arrested)? so weird.

Bubbles, tustin didn't want Arthur to go back to his grandparents because that would mean Arthur would "win".
Arthur was her obsession, she wanted to destroy him totally. She didn't want him to go anywhere.

For that you can work with societies most abused children, most evil parents and face the constant vitriol of the public. You also get to work any number of extra hours for free. Any takers?

I knew someone who had their child taken away from them by social workers (she punched her son), and the majority of people bitched about social workers as child stealers and what a great Mother she was and how dreadful the social workers are and anyone can lose their temper etc etc. Definitely not a job I would go into.

I just read some commentary about Tustin's barrister saying Tustin was begging Hughes along the lines of "I don't want him i just want you" etc

Hughes in my opinion should have been done for murder as well although i realise he was out when the fatal attack happened.

Several different referrals from different people concerned about Arthur and he still gets murdered. It’s a dereliction of duty and I’m sick of listening to their pathetic excuses.

I just haven’t been able to get this story out of my mind, it’s just beyond heartbreaking.
These evil bastards don’t deserve the luxury of prison, being looked after/fed/watered/washed/sheltered and entertained 24/7. That’s a luxury this poor little darling didn’t have.
It should be an eye for an eye with hard core crimes like this. In my opinion they have given up their right to life and a place on this earth, they took dear Arthur’s and now they should have theirs taken.
Bring back the death penalty for crimes like this.

Why would anyone stay with a new partner who disliked their child this much ?! I'm a single parent been one for many years I can't get my mind around how anyone could allow someone to torture and hurt their child this way , yet alone join in! The way they spoke about him
To each other was painful to hear yet alone what they actually did!
He was Arthur's dad , HE more than anyone in the world should of been telling her to jog on and his son came before any woman ever would and shown Arthur he loved him, Jesus if he hates having him
So much couldn't he of given him
To his parents ffs ... Arthur you are so very loved , I just hope and prey you can feel it now and you are in peace and not hungry anymore precious boy xx

She had said to her cell mate he was trying to escape

It seems like he did get the door open and this is what has triggered her and stopped him from getting out.

I doubt he ever really cared about Arthur. Arthur only ended up with the Father because the Mother was in prison for murder. The Dad gives the impression of being a bit of a passive weirdo with low emotional intelligence and seemed totally entranced with Miss Witch from the off and wanted to do anything for her love and attention. Arthur was an inconvenience.

They didn’t just video that starving poisoned boy begging for food, they videod him begging as she sat with her other children and they all ate their meals. There were her children there, watching his abuse,,eating in front of him.
