Finally. We can say it.

I've just utterly broken down for Arthur.

That video is so revealing of the pair of killers. If a child had suffered serious injuries and died, most parents/humans would be shaking, trembling, vomiting, in absolute distress. The father is totally unfazed and she's just focusing on spinning her story of how awful Arthur was to her and how he did the injuries to himself. No sense of regret or bother at all... she is pure evil and I can't work him out, I think his only interest was getting his leg over at the expense of his own son's life. Sad

dontforgettofloss · 02/12/2021 18:58

Prison needs to be made tougher for the likes of these monsters- they should be locked in a room, with a bucket, not let out for exercise, and given dry bread and water (although that's too good for them really)

Bagelsandbrie · 02/12/2021 18:58

@Mufasa1118

I think it's sad that I don't find this story in any way shocking. That is the life that I led. But I don't find this story shocking. It's shocking in that yes it is awful, but it is not shocking in that it is unusual. I have seen such horrific child abuse in my own life, when I was a child. Other than actual murder, I saw everything else that Emma Tustin did. My mother did it to my brother. She was horrific to him. Social services certainly didn't care.

And I have heard stories from friends, of absolute horror that they suffered in their childhoods. Like stories that are beyond the beyond.
One woman told me that her parents were in a paedophile ring and she was raped from an early age.
One other woman I know told me that her father killed her baby sister.
There is horrific child abuse out there on a huge scale. The government isn't doing anything to tackle it.

Rest in peace Arthur. May you inspire the next generation to care more about children

I have a lot of 💐❤️ for you.

I was an abused child too and this case has really affected me, as have many of the other horrific cases of child abuse that have gone before.

My mum was a schizophrenic alcoholic and living with her was hell. I was in and out of foster care when she was sectioned and those times are the only times I ever felt safe. Daily life was being hungry all the time, being shouted at continually and basically trying to become as silent as possible to avoid any sort of interaction with her. Just horrendous. I am 41 now and my Mum died in 2019 and the relief was intense. I love my two dc with all my heart and try and be the mother to them that I never had.

the80sweregreat · 02/12/2021 18:58

I hope they both have a terrible time of it in prison , pair of cunts.
Rip Arthur , everyone let you down.
You poor soul :(
It's beyond evil what some are capable of.

Mufasa1118 · 02/12/2021 18:58

Yes @icelolly12 I have seen men like him before.
Those men could be ok on their own. Then they meet a woman.
They will value sex and the woman above absolutely everything , to the point where they will abuse their own child , to keep the woman liking them

I think that is him all over. You can tell by his body language in the cctv that he’s peacocking / showing off for Tustin, even at that moment when his son has been critically injured.
Wheresthebeach · 02/12/2021 19:00

@BleuJay

A relative took a picture of severe bruising to Arthur's back on April 15 last year and phoned social services the next day… but somehow they did not see the full extent of his bruising and decided that there were no safeguarding concerns; Arthur had been on social services' radar for three years.. at least five of Arthur's relatives and a neighbour told social services that his life was in grave danger; Teacher said he had become more 'reserved and anxious' and 'fixated' with his father killing him;
Beyond horrific what happened to him, and so hard to comprehend so many people trying to help and being failed by the authorities. They both should have been convicted of murder. There really ought to be an extra sentence to make torture a 'never see the light of day again' crime.
CherryCoco · 02/12/2021 19:01

@Bluntness100

I have to be honest, I sincerely hope both these people are horrifically tortured in prison every single day for the rest of their lives.

Every single day I want someone to feed them salt, starve them, make them stand for hours on end, beat them, abuse them, mock them, make them sleep on the cold floor, video them and let’s us all see. Every single day I want the other prisoners to do that to them, for the rest of their lives.

Just like they did every single day to that little boy. And I want them to live till a ripe old age in prison, taking that daily torture they inflicted, and then die a cold horrible lonely death as people video them and mock them like that little boy died.

It’s the only justice.

100% agree with this!

They won't last very long inside before we read the headlines they've been attacked inside! Hopefully it will be a regular occurrence!

icelolly12 · 02/12/2021 19:02

Yes @Mufasa1118 and it works the other way around too. Only the other day there was a case of a 'stepfather' (live in boyfriend) who murdered beautiful toddler Grace Thorpe while her Mum was out at work. Sorry but if you have children put them first fgs not your shagging partner. Angry

Poor Arthur, I hope some serious lessons are learned from this.

And I hope the evil pair both rot in jail.

Dillydollydingdong · 02/12/2021 19:03

Wicked, wicked woman.

TinaYouFatLard · 02/12/2021 19:04

I’ve never read anything that has upset me so much.

You are loved, Arthur. RIP.

Mufasa1118 · 02/12/2021 19:05

I also think that so many men are cruel. They will value sex over anything. And they will become abusive, simply to keep in favour with the woman. You know the dad is just as bad. Nearly worse, seeing as it was his actual son. And he valued sex/ a girlfriend over his son's life.

I'm just thinking of men who I know like that. My uncle. On his own he was nice to me. But his wife hated me , simply because I was a younger woman than her. When my uncle was around his wife, be would become severely abusive to me. And I mean severely. Just because he wanted his wife to keep liking him. The last time I saw him he told me he was ugly and he told his dog to attack me. I told him I never have wanted to see him again. What was scary was when he was on his own he was quite normal. But when his wife was there he became so abusive. He was shocking.

Some men are shocking.

Honkytonkyhonky · 02/12/2021 19:05

Thing is social services are underfunded, overstretched and in some cases useless

I know someone (a woman) who is abusive to her daughters

I’m not joking when I say I’ve rang/emailed/reported on websites social services at least 30 times-not because I’m this woman’s enemy (which she seems to think I am) but because I’m shit scared the same will happen to these kids and it’ll be me/their dad/grandparents taking the blame of ‘why didn’t they do anything?’

We have-I’ve even given them my name and address so they can check on me too

They don’t even go out to the house to check

Last time they RANG this woman

‘Have you abused your kids?’

‘No’

‘Have you pushed your youngest down the stairs?’

‘No’ (the child had the bloody bruises)

‘Did you attack the eldest with a knife after using to same knife to stab the family cat to death in front of them?’

‘No’ (while the child had got out and was at a friends house waiting for us to pick her up)

Police have done nothing

School-nothing

I wrote to my mp-nothing

Social services don’t even go round

(Cos of Covid apparently)

I’m sick of trying but I won’t give up-I can see how this poor little lad (and star) have been let down so many times

There’s no right or wrong way to do things as each family is different but something has to be done

And fast

Bagelsandbrie · 02/12/2021 19:07

I do think we need to make any physical punishment illegal as a bare minimum. At least then there can be no ambiguity about abuse. You see someone hit their child, you report it. Full stop. Too many people explain things away by saying how people discipline their kids is up to them - well, no, we’re a society, children belong to all of us. They are all of our futures.

Hope she slowly rots in prison. Evil to the core.

littleburn · 02/12/2021 19:11

@Mufasa1118

I just think that it is so easy to abuse children. They are weak and vulnerable. If an adult is feeling bad about themselves in any way, they are going to take it out on the weak child - so that they - the adult - feels more powerful and feels better about themselves.

Children do not have enough human rights. Parents are not checked on enough.
Children are not helped enough.
When the weaker people in our society are being abused on such a large scale - what can we do. We need to do more.

It's like when we talk about men abusing women. People say "not all men".

We are talking now about adults abusing children. We can say "not all adults", but all adults should be actively involved in helping to stop child abuse

I agree @Mufasa1118 (and I'm so sorry for what you describe in your later post).

I feel we need a total ban on the physical 'disciplining' of children. It needs to be black and white - no grey areas. I know there are huge failings by the police and social services here, but there are also instances of the neighbour and that bloody hairdresser and her boyfriend turning a blind eye to what they heard and saw. Two more opportunities where he could have been saved and wasn't.

We need to get rid of any opportunity to rationalise away physical discipline, 'not my kids, not my business etc'. That's only possible with an outright ban. You see it, you report it and in cases like this you risk legal consequences if you don't.

HesterShaw1 · 02/12/2021 19:12

I have only just heard of this.

Dehumanised abusive sociopaths having children, then the children were locked up with them in a state sanctioned imprisonment. Plenty of people warned this type of thing would happen. And it did.

That poor poor little boy.

stuckinarut21 · 02/12/2021 19:12

I don't have any words. Just beyond harrowing. How anyone could hurt a child is beyond me.

IMO the hairdresser and others who turned a blind eye should in the very least be fined. People need to know it's their responsibility as well.

Thoughts and prayers with Arthur's mum and other family members. What his mum did was wrong obviously but no mum
Should go through the pain of losing a child in such horrific circumstances.

@Bagelsandbrie @Mufasa1118 my heart goes out to you both Thanks

This is downright disgusting. Can you go to The press with this? Just thinking out loud and trying to think out of the box here. We don't need another case like this SadAngry
Whywhywhy48 · 02/12/2021 19:14

My heart is broken. Poor little boy. I don't understand how people can be so cruel.

lollipoprainbow · 02/12/2021 19:14

Seeing the photo of the head of children's services in the daily Mail walking her dog made my blood boil. What does she have to say for herself I wonder ??

InFiveMins · 02/12/2021 19:15

Bluntness100 has it exactly right.

I sincerely hope these creatures suffer every minute of every day for the rest of their lives. Evil scum.

Thewishingchair123 · 02/12/2021 19:20

One of the most distressing and incomprehensible cases ever.
How I wish someone could have taken little Arthur away in time. Away from those people who inflicted so much unnecessary hurt and pain when he just asked wanted their care and love.

I can’t begin to imagine the mental and physical torture he must have gone through ever day.

I can’t begin to imagine how how his Grandmother and Uncle Blake have dealt with this, and continue to, especially when they tried to raise the alarm.

I can’t imagine his mothers pain either. Her statement broke my heart. The bit about one of his favourite books being ‘The Snail and the Whale’ made me want to howl when the book is all about someone so small saving someone so big.

My heart breaks for your Arthur - I hope you do know now how loved you were. We will think of you always X

Agree with this. Many of us said that vulnerable children would be locked in with their tormentors.

As I understand it the sentence for child abuse has juts been hoisted from 10 to 14 years. I hope these two never see the outdoor world ever again.
