And if so, what?

I don't think it even made me smile. Not my kind of humour.

redfairy · 28/11/2021 06:27

I didn't like Bridesmaids. I thought it crude in places. White Chicks is up there for me and I could place a bunch of other movies way ahead of Bridesmaids. Most recently I really enjoyed Blended but then I do have a thing for Terry Cruz.

Deadpool

And more old school: Life of Brian, Bridget Jones's Diary

Bridesmaids is not my favourite, but I do like the bit on the plane.

Also like the fact it's a female led movie.

StylishMummy · 28/11/2021 08:06

List of movies better than bridesmaids;

  • airplane
  • Porkys
  • National Lampoon's Animal House
  • Police Academy (the original)
  • Life of Brian

Bridesmaids is the funniest film ever!!!!
"I broke a blanket"
I couldn't breathe for laughing Grin

I also love the french toast driving scene to Missy Elliot in 40 year old Virgin.
I am very juvenile.

@FrangipaniBlue

Some scenes are funny but overall the film gave me the rage about how bloody shitty they all were to Annie!!
Completely agree
divface · 28/11/2021 08:31

Dirty rotten scoundrels is hilarious and the remake with rebel wilson is good

LubaLuca · 28/11/2021 08:35

I laughed like a drain when I watched Bridesmaids at the cinema. I loved it, I thought it was really funny, but I too wanted the love interest to be somehow killed off. He was sappy and unattractive.

Nothing beats Airplane for laughs though.

Bagelsandbrie · 28/11/2021 08:38

Can’t stand it…. I never understand the love for it. Blush

FartNRoses · 28/11/2021 08:38

The films I find funny/ier

The Hangover
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Knocked up
Trading Places
Police Academy (@StylishMummy good shout)

Yes I enjoyed that too. The original was one of my fave films as a child.
Crappykitchen · 28/11/2021 08:42

I hope so, Bridesmaids is not funny AT ALL.

Girls Trip is better.

MargotMoon · 28/11/2021 08:50

If you think Bridesmaids is funny, watch Sisters on Netflix (Tina Fey and Amy Poehler). There's no contest!

seventyminutes · 28/11/2021 08:50

Role models is brilliant!

We are also a fan of jump street in this house too.

MargotMoon · 28/11/2021 08:50

*Oh, and the mighty Maya Rudolph is in it too.

Crappykitchen · 28/11/2021 08:50

I must be a grumpy sod though, I can think of far more comedy movies that I hate than what I enjoyed.

Hate anything with Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughan or Owen Wilson in.

Not a fan of Jack Black although i like School of Rock. Shallow Hal was abysmal.

Hate all Kevin Hart movies

I DO like Steve Carell though, I love crazy stupid love (gorgeous Ryan Gosling helps with that) and the chest waxing scene in 40 Yr old virgin was great.

wheresthehope · 28/11/2021 09:03

I really enjoyed bad moms. I also like bridesmaids

I enjoyed Jump Street. The sequel is funnier than the first one I think. I love the part where Channing Tatum talks about Dora the explorer / swiper in an accent … makes me laugh like a lunatic every time.
Newbabynewhouse · 28/11/2021 09:09

Nope!

thefirstmrsrochester · 28/11/2021 09:09

Stepbrothers is an absolute gem, and I agree with pp that The Birdcage is awesome as well.

lupad · 28/11/2021 09:10

Bad teacher is funny

lupad · 28/11/2021 09:10

I really like SPY & the ID one

drinkingwineoutofamug · 28/11/2021 09:11

White chicks , the dance scene in the club. The shopping trip , when his wife turns up. All of it very very funny

VikingOnTheFridge · 28/11/2021 09:13

@WhatHoMarjorie

I think Bridesmaids could have been a funny film but it's about an hour too long and full of meandering scenes that add nothing. All Judd Apatow films are too long.

But comedy is so subjective and it's great to find one that makes you hoot.

Yeah it is too long. I actually really liked it, but it needed an edit.
