And if so, what?

I had to ensure watching it when my daughter still lives at home and I found nothing remotely funny about it.

BleuJay · 27/11/2021 23:40

Endure

BorisKilledMyHusband · 27/11/2021 23:41

Yes.
It’s funny in places but the shitting scene is just gross, not funny.

Sister Act makes me laugh a lot. I'd put that above Bridesmaids, but I do like Bridesmaids as well, it's just lacking singing nuns for me.

Q. Would you rather.........rewatch Bridesmaids or guide your dad into your mum?

Me. 🤔

White chicks. Seen it loads and still laugh at.

That's an alarming insight into your family dynamics!

I LOVE that film! And no, I'm not sure I've ever seen a film that's funnier now that I think about it.

Mindareno · 27/11/2021 23:47

Yes - Mean Girls. But otherwise, no!

Gingernaut · 27/11/2021 23:48

Yes. Noises Off.

Bridesmaids was about as funny as pulling teeth.

MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry · 27/11/2021 23:50

I didn’t find it funny at all.

I recently watched a film called ‘our ladies’ that was fucking hilarious!

Yeh Mean Girls is up there but Bridesmaids is funnier IMO.

Pretty much every film I've ever seen. There was nothing I liked about it. So dull and all the characters are completely unlikeable... So yeah every film

WhatHoMarjorie · 28/11/2021 00:01

I think Bridesmaids could have been a funny film but it's about an hour too long and full of meandering scenes that add nothing. All Judd Apatow films are too long.

But comedy is so subjective and it's great to find one that makes you hoot.

We're The Millers

FrangipaniBlue · 28/11/2021 00:03

Some scenes are funny but overall the film gave me the rage about how bloody shitty they all were to Annie!!

WhatHoMarjorie · 28/11/2021 00:04

@Ionlydomassiveones

I love Bridesmaids and it’s quite unique in many ways for its clever portrayal of humour in female friendships. I also loved The Heat and Spy.
I love Spy, it really does make me laugh, unsophisticated National Lampoon humour. Melissa McCarthy is great in that role.
Calyx72 · 28/11/2021 00:04

Stepbrothers is funnier but Bridesmaids is okay (the toilet stuff as mentioned upthread just turns me right off it though)

Bellfor · 28/11/2021 00:09

I love Melissa Mccarthy and the bride (can't remember her name...Alison something? ) but hated bridesmaids.

So many films that are much funnier.

Thing is it wasn't about the Bridesmaids really. It was about the maid of honour. misses point of thread
