Please inspire me as I always think of a reason not to go .

Oh well done everyone. Glad you're all still here. I went again on Saturday and really enjoyed it. People seem to be getting friendlier now I've been going a few weeks so am glad I persevered. I can't go next week unfortunately, but definitely going to keep at it and get back to some level of fitness.

CalmConfident · 26/11/2021 22:19

Well….not going to be any park running here…everything cancelled locally !

AuntieStella · 26/11/2021 23:20

Here's a link to the parkrun page which lists cancelled events

Last updated 3 minutes ago - could be a flurry added tomorrow morning too

Mine's still on - let's see in the morning.

Donatella · 27/11/2021 07:23

Ours was cancelled anyway due to the course being unavailable (so no birthday parkrun for me 😢). I'll go out for a run anyway though (can't go to another parkrun due to tight timings to get DD to an activity, we barely make it on time most weeks anyway, definitely can't factor in a further away parkrun)

It's amusing when +90% are basically cancelled for the same reason and each team puts in a very individual explanation, some very "DANGER!" some very irreverent Grin

When we had the awful winter of frequent storms and flooding two years ago, some gave reasons like "course invaded by ducks" Grin

My Parkrun was on. It was just first time volunteering today. My daughter and I tail-walked.

It was so lovely seeing it from the other side! I always feel a bit silly saying ‘thanks marshall’ when running past, but it’s so lovely to cheer people on and them say thank you. It gave us a lovely warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Have a lovely weekend X

AuntieStella · 27/11/2021 11:55

I was tail this morning - found myself doing a run/walk (mainly walk) with someone utterly lovely. You meet all the best people at the back!!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 27/11/2021 12:28

AuntieStella - I agree! I've had some fantastic chats while tailing. I'll be tail next week.

My parkrun stayed dry today (the heavens opened shortly afterwards), and I had my fastest time since the great re-start so a good morning here.

Stylinson · 27/11/2021 12:31

I was also tailwalker today, with my dog - bringing up the rear with our lovely 85 year old who comes every week. She even does some little running sections!

UnaOfStormhold · 27/11/2021 12:41

I was on carpark duty, we nearly lost a few cones and the "Car Park Full" sign because it was so windy. I ran afterwards but this was definitely not a day for PBs for me!

CP26 · 27/11/2021 12:47

I went in London and it was freezing! Needed a long hot bath after. But glad I went.

ColinTheKoala · 27/11/2021 14:47

I ran my usual parkrun this morning and was 3rd lady - just shows how small the turnout was due to the weather Grin

FlamesEmbersAshes · 27/11/2021 17:34

All my local parkrun’s were cancelled today unfortunately. I did a run on the treadmill instead but it wasn’t the same! I’m due to marshall at Jr Parkrun tomorrow so am hoping that goes ahead.

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 27/11/2021 17:37

I proudly wore my 25 t shirt today which l received this week...Still 6 mins off my pb but l will get there

MirandaWest · 27/11/2021 22:04

I was timekeeping this morning. Was glad of my fleece lined leggings (wore tights underneath as well!) Planning a run tomorrow morning….hope the snows stopped by then.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/12/2021 00:07

Are we all ready for the morning? I'm volunteering tomorrow.

AuntieStella · 04/12/2021 06:19

I'm awake, and reconsidering the spot of tourism I had planned (raining, so might save that one for a different day as it's part trail). Rather tempting to just stay in bed, but I know I'll feel so much better for getting out there

FlamesEmbersAshes · 04/12/2021 06:58

I have got a mild calf strain. I’m not sure whether to go or not? I have a compression sleeve thing that I can wear but I don’t want to make it worse and be out for ages! Any advice from more experienced runners? I’ve been lucky enough not to have been injured before.

Donatella · 04/12/2021 07:17

I'm having to give it a miss this week as DD had a sleepover last night so I have 4 10/11 year olds to wrangle. Should be back on it next week to check out our new course.

UnaOfStormhold · 04/12/2021 07:28

Have fun out there, it's my week for taking DS to swimming so no parkrun until next week.

southlondoner02 · 04/12/2021 07:29

I'm volunteering this morning. Usually do ever other week running then volunteering. It forecast to rain so going to get my waterproofs out!

@FlamesEmbersAshes I would be inclined to leave it this week. But I say that as someone who has all sorts of niggles that won't go away!

restbakerest · 04/12/2021 07:36

Awake but in bed and struggling to get out of the warmth!! I've not been able to go fit 3 weeks, somehow seems even harder!

kungfupannda · 04/12/2021 07:39

Just found this thread. We do it most weekends. We’ve got two Parkruns within a 10 min drive. It differs as to who runs it ‘properly’ and who lopes round with the youngest, but there’s usually at least three out of the five of us running it in some way, shape or form! We’ve got a charity alternative today, but should be back at it next week. Our closest one is hoping to run on Christmas Day, and the older two boys and I are contemplating dragging ourselves away from the chocolate to do it.
