Some very interesting traffic heading to Scotland for Cop 26.

PRES101 from Aerolinas Argentinas appears to be about to land at Prestwick.

Private jet LNX29KG also en route to Glasgow.

And isn’t it fun in amongst all the big boys there’s a wee Loganair flight from Tiree!

SpookyScarySkeletons · 01/11/2021 09:16
@SpookyScarySkeletons it's on military feeder
Thank you! I never even knew military freedar was a thing!

We are near one of the airports that the RAF use for practice landings with the Hercules and the globemaster. I absolutely love watching them. A few weeks back we arrived at the park adjoining the runway just in time to see three Hercules landings and takeoffs. We were literally 100 metres from it!!

I think the BBC missed a trick by not including our plane spotting in their article! Some photos in here of the planes we were all stalking yesterday www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-59114688

The gulfstream almost at Hawick is Bill Gates' aircraft.

CormoranStrike · 01/11/2021 09:18

I’ve found AF1 on the military app, just west of Monaco.

I have the morning off. I may go find a spot to photograph AF1 coming in.

The Logan air pilot will be having a good plane spotting experience!
BabbleBee · 01/11/2021 09:26

Morning… glad I found you all!

I can only see AF1 on Military Freedar, not the others.

LargeProsecco · 01/11/2021 09:26

AF1 is due in to Edinburgh around 10.30am - it's a 747 - shame I am at work & will miss it!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 01/11/2021 09:27

I found AF1 finally!

MopaniTree · 01/11/2021 09:29

Hello just joining you on all here..do you think AF1 is definitely arriving into Edinburgh? Would have loved to try and spot I but I'm certain it will change path and arrive into Glasgow at the last minute!

KingsleyShacklebolt · 01/11/2021 09:30

I am also seeing UKP99 buzzing around south Glasgow, it's a UK National Police Air Service aircraft.

I didn't even know we had a National Police Air Service...

95% Edinburgh, because it's scheduled into Edinburgh, because the police area walking the perimeter at Edinburgh, because restrictions have been put into place at Edinburgh. 5% Glasgow because nothing is set in stone. Glasgow is not prepared for AF1 - Edinburgh is.

NPAS is all of the police helicopters, some areas have small planes too.
Goawaymorningsickeness · 01/11/2021 09:34

The irony of the people on private jets and helicopters lecturing us about our carbon footprint and climate change.

BoJoSecretGF · 01/11/2021 09:35

Indeed. Another Gulf is en route to Glasgow from Turkey.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 01/11/2021 09:39

Excuse my ignorance but is the smaller white plan accompanying AF1?

This is my first foray into tracking AF1!!

Is it the real airforce one or decoy airforce one? Which I didn’t know was a thing?!

MopaniTree · 01/11/2021 09:41

That makes sense, I heard Ingliston is busy with the police and wondered why!

Williamshatnershorses · 01/11/2021 09:41

Right, I’m off (couple of jobs to do on the way). I will check in when I find a good viewing spot!

Nanasueathome · 01/11/2021 09:42

I love this
My elder son is an Air Traffic Controller, based Swanwick

Teaandakitkat · 01/11/2021 09:43

I am amazed that you can follow the US president's plane online. Surely that makes him a massive target. I know they try to disguise him and all, but it slightly blows my mind that we can just look online and with a bit of knowledge we can work out exactly where in the world he is.

KingsleyShacklebolt · 01/11/2021 09:44

I'm not usually that interested in flights in and out of Glasgow, most days it's just EasyJet and Ryanair and holiday flights. The occasional Emirates flight.

But when something like this is going on it's so interesting to see the different planes landing, I don't think Air India has ever been here before.

It's real. I honestly don't know anything about decoys. The person that mentioned them last night also said you will never see AF1 on a tracker so take it with a pinch of salt.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 01/11/2021 09:49

Italian Ir Force over the North Yorkshire Moors.

Also... RAF plane call sign PIRATE11... that is a cool call sign
