Emma had her return tickets booked , did t expect to get past the qualifiers.

Yes I read earlier she'd had to change her return flight booking, should have left already!

I think emotions did get the better of her. She's just turned 19 and on biggest tennis stage. And am not sure it was a smirk but more trying not to cry and trying to mask it as a smile (though not sure if we are talking exactly the same moment). Give her some grace. I suspect her complaint was how long it was taking rather than the fact that she had a time out.
