Very painful abscess on inner thigh developed Sunday evening, saw Dr Monday morning, she prescribed antibiotics which I don’t think is making any difference - red area has grown over last 3 days.

This spot came up today and it getting larger. Do I pop it?

@FooFighter99 it’s awful, isn’t it? I tried lymecycline a while back but it didn’t help. I didn’t get a single flare up when I was pregnant, it was bliss. Gave birth 3 months ago and I’ve had 2 where I haven’t been able to walk but luckily they both burst at home. I’m breastfeeding so can’t even get my normal antibiotics. It’s a bloody horrid disease. Sending hugs, hope the lymecycline improves things for you.

Can’t remember where I read it, might have been on here but get a glass bottle and run it under the hot water tap, empty out hot water and immediately place neck of bottle over boil and as the glass cools it creates a vacuum inside the bottle resulting in the pis from the boil draining into the bottle.

I do recall at the time seeing YouTube videos when I looked it up.

That’s what I will do should I find myself in your position and don’t want to squeeze and risk Infection.

You have strong will power. I would have squeezed that to no end.

Just squeeze it you wussy (joking). You could try gently stretching the skin, that should help the ooze a bit.

To all suffering from HS, have you tried turmeric? I read that it is good to take orally and also used topically in a paste on the affected area.

@Blossomtoes

How anybody resists is beyond me

Because it would be fucking agony. It’s the reason a HCP freezes it before lancing.

Agony for a few minutes then instant relief. Luckily my gp loves this kind of shit and will not give up until the job is completed.

The INNER thigh?!

God you poor bastard ☹️

As the photos go on, it looks less angry, less inflamed. Hopefully it's on its way to leaving now.

IHateCoronavirus · 09/09/2021 20:38

That looks so sore. Hoping it blows soon for you.

WanderingTrolley1 · 09/09/2021 20:55

Very gentle pulling of skin above area…

That's the way OP. It's a beauty. Glass of wine for courage and another squeeze.

This is amazing

thetesdybears · 09/09/2021 21:02

There will be so much stuff in there but the relief will be amazing I promise. Probably some hard bits of funky disgustingness!

I had one on my back not nearly as bad as urs and it was where I cldnt reach. I had to let me husband sort it. He's quite evil in that when I say stop he keeps going a little more! It was still sore n tender but uh felt so good to stop it throbbing and being painful.

Hope u get it sorted out!

TSSDNCOP · 09/09/2021 21:03

I can still hear the pop of the one I had on my coccyx 37 years ago. The gunge. The stench. ''Twas epic.

thetesdybears · 09/09/2021 21:03

Oh and a hot bath helped mine come out easier!

DroopyClematis · 09/09/2021 21:04

Magnesium sulphate paste is excellent at drawing out impurities. Available at pharmacies.

Babymamaroon · 09/09/2021 21:04

Oooooooohhhh that is a thing of beauty! Thank you for your wonderful pics Grin

I hope you're ok!! Thanks

Thewholeshackshimmy · 09/09/2021 21:04

Ive just shown this to dh, your post is pus-porn to him, he loves a good spot or boil and I’m always finding him watching Dr Pimple Popper.

Hoppinggreen · 09/09/2021 21:04

Ooooooohhhhhhhh
Well done, hope it feels better now
Keep an eye on infection but it should drain

Oohchichi · 09/09/2021 21:05

That is so satisfying Grin hope you’re feeling better soon OP

WildCherryBlossom · 09/09/2021 21:07

Congrats OP! 👏👏👏

Evergibbon · 09/09/2021 21:07

Omg that'll feel like blessed relief

NotMyCat · 09/09/2021 21:09

Good plan, it's better to sort of pull apart than squeeze

WanderingTrolley1 · 09/09/2021 21:09

Not much else coming out at the moment and there’s still a lot of hardness under the skin, but at least it’s started to erupt… I may stop teasing it now and try again in the morning.
