For me it's baths. Never quite the experience I crave.

OP posts:

Expensive Hotel rooms and their crap showers/ uncomfortable beds.

hootyowls · 26/08/2021 20:57

crumpets, even with real butter. Love the thought of them, but when I've eaten half of one it's all a bit, well, meh.

SisterAgatha · 26/08/2021 20:58

Everything I’ve come here to say, has been said.

Fish and chips is so good in theory tho...

Nandos.

The lottery.

FatAnkles · 26/08/2021 21:00

Many of tbe above, but if I could spend Christmas alone with a packet of pringles and a decent box set, I'd be happy as a clam. I don't bother at all with NYE.

Can I add:

Travelling. I like being there, just not the getting there
Christmas pudding
Clothes shopping. I can't find the thing I want!
Brighton Pier
Dominic Raab (topical)
Later seasons of The Simpsons

@TSSDNCOP
Thanks for that idea, I’ll certainly try it!

Afternoon tea.

GreenTortoise · 26/08/2021 21:07

Pizza.

I've really tried to like it. All sorts of it. But no.

Msfoxy17 · 26/08/2021 21:10

Theatre also for me. As PP said, have tried many different kinds but always bored and would rather be watching a film (or dance of some kind).
Also Chinese takeaways.
Have given on both of the above now.
I also always find that a recipe that was really great first time you tried it is a bit disappointing second time round.
Oh and also my own baking..of any sort (cake, muffins whatever). A load of faff and washing up for a not great result. I prefer eating the cake mixture (maybe that's the problem!)

Starting a diet. I always imagine I’ll feel energised and bouncing with vitality eating all those vegetables but I end up feeling lethargic and angry.

Hassled · 26/08/2021 21:21

Wagamama's. I like the concept, I like the food, staff always pleasant etc. But I always have food envy - whatever someone else has ordered, that's what I should have had. And I always leave feeling a bit pissed off that I didn't order something different/better.

I'm aware this post really should be used in an official dictionary to describe First World problems.

KFC
Risotto
Herbal/fruit tea

For some reason, UK days out always turn into a stressful nightmare for me.
Most memorable, being naïve enough to drive into central London to go to a museum. Think it was a cup final day. Ended up ditching the car in a London suburb, paying £24 for a well dodgy spot behind a lock up, wandering around London catching tubes well & truly lost, arguing the while time, and only getting to spend 40minutes in the museum. Oh and spending bank holiday stuck in a traffic jam, baby screaming, me crying, and missing our pre-booked slot at some farm.

Not to mention the sugar withdrawal migraine...

Family days out.

@AdaColeman

Bunches of sunflowers, somehow they never quite capture the delight of field after field of them in Provence. (Yes, I know, I know! )

Also fish & chips, they’re always soggy, when what we want is CRUNCH!

They're crunchy at any chippy I'd darken the door of! There must be a better chippy near you, surely?
beigebrownblue · 26/08/2021 21:31

Tulips.

They go from poker straight to floppy the second they are introduced to a vase.
