Poster I often think about...

It's the lady from the chutney threads. I read all her threads and kept up with her son being born and all the other things that happened and I often think of her and wonder if she's ok. He must be at least 8 by now

OP posts:

@balzamico

Where's Mrs devere now? I also used to like Anyfucker but I think she left or got banned for upsetting people (she was pretty forthright)

The only I always remember was a poster with a teletubbies name (tinkywinky I think) who left her drunken dh, she had twins and I often wondered how she got on, it was several years ago.

I also wonder about mr Wardrobes and hope he's ok

Anyfucker is still here. A lot of MRA pretending to be women would like her banned for advising women to not put up with abuse. MrsDV left. I have her elsewhere in cyberspace and she's fine Smile I'm pretty sure Wardrobe's husband is also fine.

Glad to see others mention Dittany - I always think of her when I read the feminism boards. She had a somewhat direct posting style and you wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of her (!) but she was very passionate and knowledgeable. I think she was instrumental in getting MN to set up the first feminism board (it was just 1 originally).

Geamhradh · 23/08/2021 17:51

@PropertyFlipper

Not Derek.

That was sadly CatThiefKeith. A MNer organized a wreath etc and went to the funeral then rather unwisely posted photographs on here of it, which showed mourning relatives in the background and CTK's name was visible.

CuntAmongstThePigeons · 23/08/2021 18:14

I miss Dittany, she was amazing.

WTF475878237NC · 23/08/2021 18:14

There have been a few over the years I have desperately hoped were trolls because of how tragic they were. But Mumsnet posters never fail to surprise me and when you invest it can go either way. Some of the worst have involved posters in awful DV or accident scenarios who never come back.

Changeofname12 · 23/08/2021 18:19

As someone mentioned above, @kittensarecute

Hope she's doing ok.

BillinaTheChickenQueen · 23/08/2021 18:35

I think of Mrs Devere and her beautiful Billie often.
A close family member shares a birthday with Billie and I think of Mrs Devere honouring Billie every year.
On a completely different note…
I also think about crumbs and her many sitting rooms, light up sheep etc.

SunshineCake · 23/08/2021 18:37

MrsF?

She had about four children, a dh, money worries, a FIL who was ill I think and she'd write long posts and had many threads. One day I just could t find her thread.

Onehotmess · 23/08/2021 19:15

@x2boys @Loveatthe5anddime
If it’s the one I’m thinking of, I thought netmums too. Didn’t SS accuse her of trying to pierce her baby’s tongue? Then it got deleted as it was going through court?

MimsyBorogroves · 23/08/2021 19:35

Expat. Cupofteaplease and her beautiful Bea. I think about both often.

Cattheifkeith and Zombie.

Mulletsaremisunderstood · 23/08/2021 19:39

@PowerhouseOfTheCell

Poster who claimed quarantining the post wasn’t enough she used to just burn it in the back garden when it came through the letterbox. Hope her and her massive bonfire are ok
Thanks for this, funniest thing I've read all day Grin.
shinynewapple21 · 23/08/2021 19:54

@Tootiredtocryagain

Dowser - she was kind to me years ago and I used to see her on here a lot but not recently. Perhaps she namechanged. Sad

@Tootiredtocryagain I think I recognised her posting under another name yesterday.

To the posters asking about the poster who was diagnosed with leukaemia around March last year - if this poster is who I think she is then she's still well and posting .

EarringsandLipstick · 23/08/2021 20:59

I'm pretty sure Wardrobe's husband is also fine.

Wardrobes updated in March with the wonderful news that her DH had recovered and was in HDU. He had some significant long-term issues but overall it was amazing, given how serious it had been for him. I often think of Wardrobes & her family. I think those threads show the positive side of MN.

EarringsandLipstick · 23/08/2021 21:04

The problem with that poster is, that she name changes frequently, and also changes details and gives half a story.

The single most frustrating poster I've come across on MN, and one where I got far too invested.

I started out like many, really offering support about the court situation. But there were so many disparities, contradictions & downright awful stuff about her DSs that it became impossible to take.

She wasn't a troll as there genuinely seemed to be an issue but the exact truth of it was impossible to ascertain.

Possibly it was an odd story but people do have freak accidents so who knows?

persephone19 · 23/08/2021 21:22

"And Biscuitsandbandages who sadly died, falling ill not long after giving birth to her DD. Such tough times they had as a family, and always seemed so unfair that she was a GP, and spent her life helping others."

She was a GP in my practice before I started there. I knew her a little. Her patients and colleagues were so devastated. It was an utterly tragic situation how fast she went. I still see her name on patient notes and it makes me so sad.

reachedtheendofmytether · 23/08/2021 21:43

I'm so sad to hear about Twitter queen. I read her threads but didn't watch them sadly so lost track of what was happening. I remember her seeming to be very brave.

QuimReaper · 23/08/2021 21:50

I am delighted to hear about Mr Wardrobes! That's amazing news!

TangoWhiskyAlphaTango · 23/08/2021 21:58

@cervixuser

expatinscotland is someone I think about - on Saturday night Call Me Maybe popped up in my Spotify and it reminded me of her and her beautiful daughter. I also think about Hully and Pagwatch and wish they were still here dispensing fun
Expat for me too. My dd was the same age as hers and what she went through was just heartbreaking, I often wonder how her and her family are doing.
nc8765 · 23/08/2021 22:03

There was one on the infertility boards. She had gone down every route possible in trying to investigate why she couldn't conceive, why IVF wasn't working. She went to Coventry to see a specialist and was told there was no hope for her.

I think she was going to write a book about her journey.

I think of her often.

Vaselike · 23/08/2021 22:06

There was someone a couple of years ago, who had several children of her own, but suddenly was looking after her ?sister’s children, turning them into a household of about 8. I hope she wasn’t a troll, but she was everywhere for a while and then nowhere.

AlternativePerspective · 23/08/2021 22:32

I know expat elsewhere in cyber space and she and her family are doing ok.

Many, many years ago when I was on the conception boards there was a poster called Coggy I think it was. She’d ttc for 5 years without success and had eventually fallen pregnant. But then when she went into labour the chord got wrapped round the baby’s neck and he was stillborn. When she joined the conception boards she’d already been trying again for a few years and went on to have an unsuccessful IVF cycle which was her last hope iirc. I often wonder what happened to her.

FoodieToo · 23/08/2021 22:36

Biscuitsandbandages . So sad.
And Trazzletoes whose beautiful son Joe died of cancer. And Expat .
So sorry xxx

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 23/08/2021 22:42

There used to be a Midwofe poster called AtYourCervix who was always entertaining.

I always remember the thread where a posters very close friend was pregnant to an American who was hounding her to go over there to deliver the baby and the OP was so worried as their relationship was fledgling and she was concerned the Friend would end up trapped and unable to bring her baby home.

BeeBop1456 · 23/08/2021 22:49

Misdee and expatinscotland I remember from my early days on here. I often think of them
