It's the lady from the chutney threads. I read all her threads and kept up with her son being born and all the other things that happened and I often think of her and wonder if she's ok. He must be at least 8 by now

@AlternativePerspective

I know expat elsewhere in cyber space and she and her family are doing ok.

Many, many years ago when I was on the conception boards there was a poster called Coggy I think it was. She’d ttc for 5 years without success and had eventually fallen pregnant. But then when she went into labour the chord got wrapped round the baby’s neck and he was stillborn. When she joined the conception boards she’d already been trying again for a few years and went on to have an unsuccessful IVF cycle which was her last hope iirc. I often wonder what happened to her.

There was a similar poster who had an awful time getting pregnant, IVF and all the rest, only to result in her daughter being stillborn at term. It took her several more IVF attempts and years gone by to conceive another child. But she had a happy ending Smile

I'm new here, but just looked up biscuitsandbandages threads. So heartbreaking. Her baby will be 7 now. I hope she knows what a brave lady her mummy was. It's so sad seeing her posts from all those years ago, and knowing all her worst fears came true. I hope she's looking down on her children, and that they're all doing ok. So, so sad.

Looked at CatThiefKeith too. She seemed like a very funny and kind lady. Terrible she was taken so suddenly from her young daughter.

It's beautiful to see so many here remember them and others.

Scottishmummy who taught me to trust nae fucker. What a legend. Grin

GreatestShowman · 23/08/2021 23:55

To the posters asking about the poster who was diagnosed with leukaemia around March last year - if this poster is who I think she is then she's still well and posting

That's wonderful to hear, thank you. I was one of the people asking. I tried to find her thread the other day but couldn't. I'm so pleased she's doing well.

I often think about @wardrobes husband who has covid - does anyone know anything ?

imjustsoworried · 24/08/2021 01:09

I often think of cat and her daughter mini. I hope they're doing ok.

I posted a reply to another poster at 20:59 if you want to take a look; good news here in this thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4140977-Wardrobes-DH-ICU

I came to know the lovely Twitter Queen irl. She was indeed exceptionally brave . She helped an Ovarian cancer charity publicise the symptoms to look out for. I often think of her, she was a true life enhancer .

crabb · 24/08/2021 04:13

@SunshineCake, are you thinking of Mrs Koala? Story sounds similar. She’s still around and I think separated from her husband.

AnnListersBlister · 24/08/2021 04:41

Geamhradh @Geamhradh I came on to say about her too! What happened?

WhatCanBrownBearSee · 24/08/2021 04:56

@cervixuser

expatinscotland is someone I think about - on Saturday night Call Me Maybe popped up in my Spotify and it reminded me of her and her beautiful daughter. I also think about Hully and Pagwatch and wish they were still here dispensing fun
I think about Expat too and her daughter too. It was Expat being so open about her daughter's diagnosis and treatment that meant that when my own son came out in unexplained bruises, we were at the doctor's like a shot. He too had leukemia (he's recovered and doing well now), and I was always grateful to her for sharing her own painful experience that helped us through ours.

@romdowa

I often think about the woman and her ducks! That thread has been one of my absolute favourites on here.
Oh yes the ducks on the lake lady. I loved that thread too - does anyone have a link?

Maybe. I'll take a look. Thank you.

Eddielzzard · 24/08/2021 06:29

I miss Cod, BitofFun and Expat.

Often think about that lady who moved to NZ and her DH turned into an absolute arsehole and she was stuck there. Absolute nightmare.

SpacePug · 24/08/2021 06:43

When I watch go jetters with my toddler I often think of the poster who's little boy passed away who loved go jetters and she placed a figure of one of the characters in his hand. So sad

Freelancegirl · 24/08/2021 06:44

Going back to my original name to post this, I joined MN in around 2011 when I was going through miscarriages and there was a long-Ish running thread called Recurrent Buns with many brilliant and funny people going through recurrent miscarriages. I used to post there and also started a few of my own threads, one which is still going ten years later! I often think of some of the people on the recurrent buns thread. I now have two children age 9 and 6 but the threads got me through some tough times and also introduced me to miscarriage specialists and treatment I might not have found.

CallItLoneliness · 24/08/2021 06:53

I remember an abuse victim called MrsHenryWinter. I often wonder if she got out; her H sounded horrendous, and was trying to get her pregnant again to keep her trapped. She said she just wanted to be able to choose how to arrange her own carrots. Heartbreaking.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 24/08/2021 07:06

Dittany. She was so right and I was so naive back in the day when I interacted with her on the fledgling feminism boards. I hope she's still around and fighting the good fight still.

Someone mentioned Psychomumof5 upthread - I'm FB friends with her, she's doing well.

Re. the A&E threads - there was one poster who I remember being encouraged to go to A&E with her situation, and she was saved from possible death because she had a DVT that could have killed her had any of it become dislodged. I think it's ok for people to ask for advice and get experiences - but I don't think anyone should advise AGAINST going to A&E, just in case it IS something that needs urgent treatment. If in doubt, go.

I remember Trazzletoes and her 'beautiful blue eyed boy' who passed away from cancer. It was heartbreaking .

I often think about her I hope she is ok

Californiansunsets · 24/08/2021 07:27

@jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey

Ophelia Rose from way back. I often wonder how she and her twins are doing.
I often think of her too.
LizzieSiddal · 24/08/2021 07:40

When I first joined many years ago, I followed the threads of someone called PixieOnALeaf she had 6 Dc, including twin babies and a very wealthy husband. There were a lot of medical dramas, at the time I believed every word, but now I’m not so sure.

There was a mum called MiaAlexandra who tragically lost her Dd, I think to sepsis, she wrote so beautifully about her, set up a charity in her name and also went on to have a little boy. I hope she’s doing well.

People I miss for the laughs- Hullygully, Pagwatch, GetOfMyLand, BuoCakes, MN was much smaller sight in tides days and it really felt like you “knew” everyone.

Would love to know how Eatshitderek is doing now

She's fine. The 'toddler' is starting High School. Grin
SweatyBetty20 · 24/08/2021 07:50

I also remember MrsHenryWinter above all of them. I don’t hate men but her husband really was something else.
