Engagement rings

Haven’t had an engagement ring thread for a while.Mine is a diamond solitaire.Afraid I don’t know how to post a photo.

Mine are 25 years old! Ageing well or at least better than me.



I have 2 rings, my proper one is a single pink stone inherited from my granny, He only paid for it to be cleaned and resized.

This one the blue sapphire my husband gave me for our 10th wedding anniversary.

I was told by a wholesale jeweller the most valuable (dependant on how it's certified so D flawless etc) is a 1ct Princess cut as it's hard to get whole carats.

Also they the best and most valuable metal to hold the diamond is platinum.

However I know you can spend lots of money but then the resale value is poor!

This, along with the cat threads, is my favourite type of thread on MN. More, please!

My actual engagement ring is one emerald and two diamonds, but it's awaiting resetting so I'm currently wearing this pink
Sapphire and diamond ring which my husband bought for me.

DH and I chose it together.

Here's mine - didn't fancy diamonds as the main stone but had given DH no other guidance than that. He went off without my knowledge and did beautifully! Wedding band was made from my late mum's as was my husband's

I am happy with my first engagement ring, I would rather it be on my finger than get lost.

I have changed the stone from a clear stone to a pink stone to make it mine.

The blue stones one also belonged to my husbands great gran.

Mine is rubies and diamonds with a half eternity wedding band underneath it

A ‘better’ one? As you’ve yet to post a picture of your amazing one, my old one is better than a fictional one…

I love mine. Wasn’t massively expensive but exactly what I wanted - it’s my second set (excuse the pic I’m in the car travelling back from holiday)

The engagement ring is dated 1948, the garnet is Edwardian and I don’t know about the band. All from DH although I did find the engagement ring without him. I love them all.

@Saggybaggyaggy @polkadotpjs thank you so much for your comments. Aquamarine is my birthstone but all the rings I looked at were quite old fashioned. I found this one on Alison Moore's website. She does some amazing birthstone jewellery. (I also got the matching pendant)
